This is Part 1

The thread is continued in part 2:

Fyfe said Brennan Cox wants to play midfield next season.

That was Fyfe just repeating a private convo' for a laugh. He even said straight after that the idea was ridiculous.

At one stage the only tall forward with a better record than Cox at equivalent games was Jesse Hogan.
Oh shit here we go again... 😂

Don't panic on that just yet, I reckon the Pies will come calling for him and give you your money back on him.

This wouldn’t be part of a Treloar, Cripps, Hogan 3-way would it?
Looks like you’ve been knocked back by Merrett, Wines and Oliver. Only leaves the pie?

Play Cox as the defensive sweeping winger. Play Cerra as the offensive winger. Force the long kick and we have Cox coming in from the side to impact the contests.
Or if required we could still play him down back and have Logue as a tall defensive forward nullifying the likes of McGovern by letting them lead him to the ball and then contesting like mad.
I seriously doubt Cox has the tank to play wing. I’m sure he has the skills and smarts though.

Be a strange backflip after public denial. Would make good tradeweek though.

I really want the Oliver one to be real just for the DT&FA thread lols.
De Goey will go to the highest bidder as he has made it clear that is his main consideration. No club would publicly say they want him as they don’t want to start a bidding war. Collingwood have nothing left in the cap as it is all going to Grundy and Moore’s retirement funds.
Carlton need another small/medium forward that can provide midfield depth. It seems like a good fit to me. Oliver is a good clearance player and accumulator but doesn’t impact games as much as JDG

There were some games this year Cox was everywhere. He'd show up here there and everywhere, suddenly he's there in the opposition's face, like the proverbial pop up sprinkler. And like most of what he does, his tank is probably quite deceptive.

From what I’ve been able to gather.
Oliver will be held to his contract, Blues don’t have the cap or the currency
Merrett will see out this year’s contract and be available as a free agent
De Goey will stay at the pies, not enough interest as yet, next contract will take him to FA
Wines will be going nowhere, will be looking to go one game better next year with Port
Treloar and C’wood situation is awkward.

Of course, this is the public face each party is putting on, and we know how quickly that can change.

I just find it interesting that the Blues have gone hard at these contracted top 10 inside mids. If they were after support for Chips, Crouch would have done.
Seems like more of a replacement?

He’s a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. He is Kepler 2.0

I reckon you’re close but I still reckon Collingwood get what they can for De Goey this year before he hits FA
Crouch is a dud, never rated him. Low impact player

If we can’t get Clarke I would put Sturt on a wing, otherwise if we do get Clarke a great roaming half forward option would be ideal for Sturt

I think he has mid/wing potential but quality half forwards are worth their weight in gold.

I think you would be right but he didn't get the interest he is after. Rightly so, he isn't consistent enough (or a good enough boy) for the big dollars.

Think there will be some good drama from one of these. I hope so, could be a dull trade period without a big name moving. Daniher doesn't count because of injury.

Could Cox or Logue go forward? We are a tall too many down back in our best 22. By that I mean that all of the guys vying for KPD spots are best 22 in my opinion.

Sure that’s probably plan A , still wouldn’t mind someone proven as an option even if they’ve been on a bit of a downswing Hooker , Reid someone like that

Every chance to get a fresh start bounce back from a guy like that
