Clearly Teague thinks otherwise and hasn’t been told. Near the end of the article below, Teague is reported to have said that Ben is in the clubs long term plans.

Ben would be still to be cut. We gave JGM a third year when he showed nothing to suggest he was an AFL standard footballer. His one claim to fame was a reasonably good game on Schahe which doesn't seem as big an achievement now.

This could be a different situation if clubs are forced to reduce the number of players on their list.

Time will tell.

Ide pay a mid to late first rounder if North were willing to depart with Ben Cunnington. He’s 29 no speed demon but uncompromising and the perfect example for our kids. Dunno whether North would part with him, if they are fair dinkum about the rebuild they should have a think about it. Doesn’t address our speed issue but you would work around it because he brings so much to the table

You would get at least two years out of him while our drafted mids came on. A dose of hardness this team could use.
I'd love either Cunnington,Sloane or Parker

It's certainly going to be interesting to see what happens with Jack at the end of the season.

I'd like to keep him but I'll go against the grain a little bit here - if he does leave I'll be disappointed, but I don't think he'll be anywhere near as big a loss as some are suggesting.

I want to keep all our youth but if we have to give someone up to help us bring in a big target or two, I'm comfortable enough with saying goodbye to Jack.

I doubt we will lose any of our talented youth, unless they want to leave for a variety of circumstances, none of which will be not being able to play their supposed prefered role.

If Jack leaves it will have very little to do in the way his dad was treated, more about how Teague rates him

We have enough currency in picks to attract quality players

In practical terms this make very little sense. Put yourself in the position of the individual and in a real world scenario and it's somewhat obvious -

1. Players want to play in positions they feel most adept playing in. Who doesn't want to be employed in a job role they feel best served in?
2. Players want to capitalize their income by being of premium value to their team. Common sense.
3. Players would want to secure their tenure in the game in a way they think they can contribute the most and for the longest period of time.

To get off on this, 'everyone can play everywhere and anyone wants to play whatever role their given' tangent, isn't real world.
Just because we don't hear about players complaining doesn't mean they don't.

Harker, really not Interested in fiction. Please state which players from any club, left after being best 22, to another club as a best 22, in their supposed preferred playing position

Not getting into anymore circular discussions with facts

Edit: please don't mention GWS or GC players, given they had larger lists and need to trim it back to standard club numbers

Don't.....but you're the one that keeps on highlighting you're point of view to be above anyone elses.

Your view on this makes no sense to me but somehow makes for perfect sense to you. That's all simply a matter of opinion, but on the three points I raised, which do you disagree with in a real world situation. Any of them or all of them?

If you want to counter them, give us your views.....or forever hold your peace. :)

Will keep dragging you back to the facts, name the players or ignore my post, it's that simple

People banging on about SPS being played out of position and needing to go in the middle can any of you tell me apart the doggies game last year where he dominated or played well regularly in that position? If not I suggest we move on from the discussion and realise he just might not be as good as we hoped he would be.
Let us also know when Bryce played a good game while you're at it

I see you don't understand the point. Think about it. Put yourself in the position and you'll understand.

What do you think of the points raised and which do you agree and disagree with....it's that simple. It really is.

If the points raised are incorrect in a real world situation, tell us why...but I don't think you can.

There's validity to your initial point as there seems to be a degree of revisionism when referring to his stints in the midfield - our improved form to the back end of last season coincided with SPS being moved out of the midfield rotation.
I still view him as being able to become a top class midfielder however, I would like to see greater intensity from him as he does have a tendency to coast a little at times.

Stop playing the man, deflecting and answer the question

So rather than deflecting, tell me which players have left a club, being a best 22 player, to being a best 22 player at another club in their preferred position

If you you can't name the players, move on

I'm sorry to interrupt, but we are playing a guy this weekend who left GWS for that reason I believe...

As I mentioned earlier, GWS had to trim their list and to be fair, wasn't best 22 at GWS at the time

Come on Arrow...he certainly was best 22 at the time he left GWS...and certainly him being played out of position was a big part of him not wanting to stay at GWS...GWS wanted to keep him, but only as a ruck as they had heaps of tall forwards at the time, and he wanted to play forward...

Charlie Cameron
Elloitt Yeo
Jake Lever
to name a few

Devon Smith.

And he left the Giants after they were at a standard list size.

Who are you talking about?

All of those were best 22 at their original clubs, and when they moved continued to play in the exact same position

None left because they weren't being played in their supposed preferred role
Fair point regarding Cameron and Lever but Yeo played on the wing not inside.
