Plowman has to be dropped - probably axed. I'd rather see the club develop someone else than see Plowman in the side again. Enough is enough, I don't mean to harp on or deliberately make him a whipping boy, but he is just NOT AFL standard. He's a one trick pony who's only strength is playing in front of slower players. He is absolutely rubbish one on one and can't keep up with faster/more agile players. Dropping Coterall for Poulson was a mistake but I thought Dow had an OK game. We need to target a decent defender to replace Plowman - Maybe Landgon is gettable.

Polson, Lang, Finbar, Goddard, Moore - thanks for your services.
Murph, Dow, SPS, O'Brien - open to whoever will take them.

There are so many on our list that we can't have if we're serious about winning number 17.
Players like Newman, Willo, Gibbons, Cunningham, McGovern (still think he might make it as a defender), Plowman, Newnes, Kennedy.

We need A graders, not expecting it to happen overnight but we are sooooo far from it, it's disgusting.
Sides like West Coast, Pies, Richmond have managed to stay relevant consistently because they have a great mix of A graders and reliable players.
We don't have either.

One of Fisher or Gibbons would have to be omitted and both are playing very good football at the moment.

Can't see the balance in playing 3 tall forwards and 3 small forwards, with Zac Fisher being the tallest of the lot.

Mind you, I don't think that the Pittonet and De Koning combination rotating as ruck forwards gives us balance either. Time for TDK to be the primary ruck and Pittonet play in the 2's. I haven't seen Pittonet do enough around the ground or pose enough of a threat up forward to justify that decision but the club sticks with it.

Just looking at today's game against Collingwood, I didn't see our small forwards as the issue. They were great.

Our biggest problem was being beaten in the midfield with Collingwood missing Treloar and Sidebottom. Also, we clearly didn't have the ability to handle their speedy forwards in Stephenson and Thomas.

I can't justify spending our currency on a small forward when we clearly have other more pressing needs.

Spending our currency on Papley would be as irrational and unjustified as when we chased McGovern.
Well which midfielder would you target?

As always the overreaction brigade is in here in force after a loss. End of the day our kicking let us down again. We have 3 or so good users of the footy coming through in Setters Walsh and Weiters but we need more. If guys like SPS and Stocker cant step up and provide what we need then go target some mids and half backs with genuine good use and we'll be an infinitely better team

Good to see someone else doesn't see a small forward as our #1 priority.

Season is done, so that way I see it.

Keep Dow in for the remainder (hopefully get his currency up) then put him on the trade table to lure Papley.

Papley wouldn't have made much of a difference today.

Keep in mind that Dow had a knee injury that set him back 12 weeks post isolation period.

He probably would have lost a bit of his running capacity.

Today was more about how clean he was with ball in hand. I thought he looked good in that regard.

Throw the sink at J Kelly, we need elite skilled/ line breaking mids
Get Cunners fit and play him as a mid
Gov to defence to use his marking/kicking skills
Retire Murphy, Simmo, Kruez...does the club have the cohunas to do this?
We have missed JSOS as the smart, midsized fwd
We lack outside run, O’Brien needs to step up
Love Ed C, but if he is still best 22 next season, we haven’t progressed

Stop with this Plowman top 5 bullshit. He might but it wouldn’t be deserved. Extremely slow minded and slow pace and endurance. He needs to go
this guy

I wasn't set on wanting Kelly at his cost, but we absolutely need a player of his class. He or Williams are a non-negotiable get this off-season.
Gov to defense makes heaps of sense, just not at the moment. Not with Jones and Weits.
Ed still offers something, for now. Can be that De Boer like tagger. We have no-one else who would do that role.

Plowman too small to play talls .... to slow to play smalls

J.Kelly no.1 target ... Wines no.2 ... need midfield depth !!

until we get midfield depth no point in chasing FPs

Of all the implications to come from this match: the pathetic defensive display from the midfield, the insipid second/third efforts from most forwards, the inability of Docherty to handle a football, the ongoing pitiful goalkicking from Cripps, Casboult's woeful aerial display, the deplorable intensity of Dow, Martin's inexplicable pass to Cripps...

We've managed to single out Plowman again?

Post of the day.

Teague got that match up wrong.

You actually seem to believe what you are saying. The next to last thing that will happen is cutting Plow.
