It didn't seem listening to Hart the other day that much thought has gone into the forwards formation.

Even in 2016/17 under Teague, our forward line looked impotent whenever the opposition chucked one or two extra players back.

We need to change our setups so that the forwards have space to lead into. Obviously quicker ball movement is a necessity too.

I hope the braindead tactic of sending our main ruckman in to contest stoppages 15m out from goals is gone too.

Stangely collingwood felt the same way with Hart's coaching. Hoping this is his final year with us and we search for a top line candidate. With the defensive nature of the league the forward coach is of utmost importance. I would say the most important coach after the head coach.

Testify!

If someone claimed that the grass was green in here there would be 3-5 posters determined to aggressively disprove it and berate the person for not giving up the source of their grass colour contact!
It's not green around the aquatic centre...in fact, it's decidedly brown...but I'm not giving you my source

It’s hard to do your best when everyone is telling you you’re shit. So perhaps we are partially responsible for this.
I have noticed he rarely smiles. I wouldn’t do much smiling either if I was being regularly slammed in social media.
I’m surprised he doesn’t have mental health issues, the shit he gets.
I don't blame David. I blame the club for continuing to give him contracts which in turn has caused some of it's supporters to have mental problems. The club has a duty of care to it's supporters to make sound and reasonable decisions. Mackay tries his best out there which is admirable. What annoys supporters is the clubs insistence in prioritizing athletes over footballers who can win a hardball. It stems back to the Neal Craig days and it still feels like it's ingrained in the clubs ethos.

Doedee is playing in the under 23 match next week apparently. If he gets through that I expect he will also play against gold coast on march 6. Barring any problems i cant see why they wouldn't select him round 1.
Theyll be conservative with him. I bet theyll want to manage his game time and AFL intensity is a different beast.

My money is on him not playing r1 but I hope Im wrong and hes ready.

Yeah, if he misses both PS games and only plays the U23 game, it makes sense to give him 2 or 3 games in the SANFL to force his way into the side based on performance, not a gold ticket (as much as we want kids playing, they have to show something)

Bahahaha Trader , just worked out you avatar . We all knew they weren’t too smart down at the Pear and like to manufacture false tradition , but to pre date the settlement of SA 😂😂😂 # clueless # made in China

But but but, surely the Pear footy club pre-dates the settlement of SA?

Yes they have a love of revisionist history. Expect an PAFC 1820 thread and a Wikipedia update to the settlement of South Australia soon.
I thought James Cook was a Port coach, he got here in 1770.

Turns out they were established the day he landed here.

wow, just read through that last 10 pages....

faaark me... talk about difficult reading. Some of you lads could use a break from this forum every once in a while, especially in the off season!..

personally try to avoid BF and AFL in general from December til March.

So who is likely to have break out seasons this year, im hearing Chayce and Stengle.
Any one else?

It would appear we are going to prioritise playing the established guys - Laird Brown Gibbs Mackay.

My guess is that Sholl and Hamill will need to dominate the SANFL before we consider either of them.
Personally I don’t think Sholl is ready but hope he gets more chances than Wigg got in his first 3 seasons

Hamill has more upside than Sholl in my book , sholl is a great ball user but lacks speed and size for an outside type and he’s very outside
Interesting take on Shane McAdam's talents by Ben Keays, might be a couple of jokers on this board that reckon we paid too much for him lining up for a big hearty serve of humble pie pretty soon....

The Mackay debate can be settled with one fact in my book - we rated him above Ricky Henderson who is now a top 5 wing in the comp and doesn’t play for us
Not sure if this is being sarcastic or not. If it isn't, the club was wrong and should have traded Mackay and kept Henderson. Henderson was being played in the wrong position and he has showed what happens when a player has a decent coach who backs them in and plays them in the correct position. I always thought Henderson had ability. He was mismanaged like many of our players by an incompetent coaching group(Pyke and Campo). I can't seriously see Mackay taking his game to a new level under Clarko. Actually he wouldn't trade for him.

Not to mention us rating him above Milera and Seedsman (both of whom were shuffled into other positions to accommodate him).
