someone like Cameron would be a “win now” move. I don’t think the Marshall would be on board with the idea of sitting in the wings essentially for 2 year before getting regular footbal.

Do you think Port should sell the farm now? I don’t think they are at that point yet.
It's hard to know if Cameron is overrated, or is being smothered/squandered by whatever GWS call their system.

Either way, I don't think he's the centrepiece key forward that his price would demand. Not worth the cost imo.

Hard to believe given where we've come from, but literally the last thing we need is another tall forward.

Polec dropped again.
Would take him back if the deal is right.
Polec in and motlop out would improve the team overall.

Would be guessing he has another couple of years of 700k. North would have to pay portion of his contract.

Can't imagine they would do it though. Optics would be horrible for them.

Get a 195+cms KPD built like a brick shithouse and has decent speed. Sick of having no one there for years.

Some of the big defenders out of contract this year.

Darcey Moore (203 100KGs)

By far the best player here, but would cost a fortune both on salary and trade capital and not sure we should give that up for a player with his injury history.

Brennan Cox (195 99KGs)
Can play defence, not sure how much he wants to. From SA & Shouldn't cost to much.

Oscar McDonald (196 100KGs)

Aiden Corr (195 97KGs)

Not really a genuine KPD, more of a third tall and don't really rate him but is a free agent.

Why would it be club driven ? Why would we drive out one of our most promising young players ?

News flash, Kane is a fu**whit.
I had the same question about Wingard, Howard and Polec. Looks like the club just wants more draft picks.

Schulzenfest how good would it have been to have a Daniel Talia last night on Hawkins, with Clurey and Jonas as the 2nd and 3rd defenders.

Daniel Talia would've gotten smashed just as badly in that setup. It was a team defence failure.

If talia played his usual style for us we would probably win that game.

if talia played as Instructed by the coaches he gets pushed in the back just the same as our defenders did and we get the same result, maybe less a goal or 2.

it would have been great to have a taller defender last night but the failure was on the coaches well and truly.

I would still like to know what Phil Davis would cost us.

We need a key back for now, Pasini or Grundy or whoever we draft are gonna take years, and that's if they actually come good.

Ladhams rucked better and was better around the ground than Lycett last night.
Not saying he is the #1 ruck atm, and Slyce was clearly still recovering post-his knee problem, but Pistol is the future (apologies to John Butcher  ).
FWIW my tip is Ladhams will be the #1 ruck in 2021 at his current rate of improvement.

Something has to give with this Lycett/Ladhams/Hayes scenario. If we lost Hayes we wouldn't get a good deal because he hasn't been given a go at AFL level, but I'm confident that he's going to be a player in the ruck and up forward. Ladhams has exposed form at the top level and a lot of clubs would pay through the nose for him.

It might be a savvy but potentially unpopular move to trade Ladhams while he holds high value, if we have made a judgment call that the keys will eventually be handed to Hayes. Smart, high performing clubs make these sort of moves over time. (It could also be applied vice versa)

Deciding to hold on to all three isn’t a bad outcome either. We can find resources elsewhere to fix up gaps in the list.

I absolutely love hayes potential as a ruck and for his ability to work within a 2 ruck system but until we get at least 5+ afl games into him it would be crazy to put all our eggs into the one basket.

there might be a logic to trading ladhams at a high point as lycett / hayes ages work better together to take over from the other but I have concerns

1. While hayes ruck skills are excellent we haven’t seen him at afl level. We haven’t established if he can stay injury free. We haven’t seen if he can build a afl tank yet.

2. what is the high point value of ladhams in a trade? Is the value in return better than what he offers? If the high point in return is just a pick say, 10-30, while maybe a good pick we could do something with what does it offer worthwhile over ladhams? If the return was say an intercepting key defender that plugged a hole in our list that we couldn’t get with a draft pick then there’s an argument. Whether or not we agree it’s worthwhile at least there’s an argument to be had. If it’s just another draft pick of which we’ve already got many then what’s the net benefit?
