Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

One beat his partner's face in, one got caught with coke and got done for drink driving. No comparing the two.

I wonder how many recent hawks premiership players (including club greats) could relate to Stengle's trouble a little more than we'd like to admit...

One directly affects an elite athletes performance, and the other (while more abhorrent) does not.

Don't want a player guilty of either of the listed indiscretions.

Not actually a lot in there, but here's what seems to be the main part of the article....

While the Hawks have done brilliantly to fast-track the likes of Jacob Koschitzke, Changkuoth Jiath, Lachie Bramble, Dylan Moore and Mitch Lewis with value draft selections, the club has only selected two players within the top 25 of the national draft on its entire list.

The club’s ample cap room could open up the possibility of paying some of the salary of a departing player to maximise the draft pick the Hawks received in exchange for that star.

“It’s been well documented we started (restocking via the draft) back with Will Day in the 2019 national draft and last year with (Denver Grainger-Barras) so we have been trying to get to the draft. Even this year we want to continue to improve our draft hand, that is the way we want to go. We are looking at all kinds of ways we can go,” he told the Herald Sun.

“We are looking at trading picks, future picks, current picks, salary cap movement, players.

“It’s only natural people are speculating around (trading) players and how we want to go about that. We understand that, our players understand that.

“We are all professionals and we have to make the decisions we think are right for the footy club and equally players have to make decisions on what to do with their futures. With an understanding of where we are at.”

Any player who doesn’t want to hang around while we re-build is tradable

As long as we get maximum value, I’m on board

I was listening to twitter spaces the other day and Ash Browne was saying internally they think we can have a big season next year. Not premiership or anything like that obviously. But far better than this one.

Makes me think with that mindset they are looking to trade out next years first rounder for 1 or multiple ones this year... Hoping the improvement we have next year lessens the pick we are handing over and giving us a net positive with the picks we get for this year.

Ive worded that terribly but hopefully you get what im saying.

The article in today’s HS was the exact same intel I received. We won’t be getting rid of them all in a fire sale, 2 in particular should net us a decent draft return.

Still so much to play out. Landscape can change twice a day over the next 10 days but as it stands it’ll be draft picks for 2 players.

I'd want something better than Pick 15 for Mitchell.

Is the image clear on which 2 if everything plays out as is?

I'm on the Cogs dump. I think it could work.

Is this to suggest it looks like deals are unofficially agreed upon and likely, or just possible with a genuine chance they don't eventuate?

1 player? Horrific?

Nah.

As it stands, I'm sick of watching Worpel being shunted to a third option inside mid.

Newcombe looks a jet. And Nash showed serious signs.

So yes, it is horrific for me to think people are advocating we add Cogs to that mix.

We actually need to be moving one of Mitchell or O'Meara on so that we can give more responsibility to Worps and progress the development of Newcombe. Not bring in another 28 (Dec) year old to block their development. And Nash.

I swear, people don't want to see we are rebuilding at times. This means you need to provide opportunity to young, talented players. Not remove it as we have been doing the past few years.

Cogs dump is horrific for the development of our list.

He's not coming to be depth.
Nah. If he’s no good, just don’t play him. But if it gets us pick 2 as an example, can’t see how that is horrific for the development of the list. It all comes down to what we get in return. Unless it is very good I would have no interest in him as a player.
