Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

Brisbane would be more likely to trade their future first out. That’s the pick we should aim for.
Makes more sense for them to hold it and see what it’s worth at the end of 2022 than to trade it now.

I think they will hold it. But if we were going to get a lions first rounder that would be the one that is attainable. Albeit as unlikely as that would be.

I think if we offered them 21 and our future 2nd they’d probably be open to trading 14 and a late pick….but I don’t know how happy Hawks fans would be with that. 😁

Depends on who is available. Someone slides and it would be worth asking the question.

Going to be a lot of disappointed posters around here when night 1 of the draft goes in the existing order of current picks.
Extremely doubtful that no trades happen.

Will we get involved? Who knows, but if the worst that happens is that we take Pick 5, 21 and 24 to the draft, I doubt anyone's going to be hugely disappointed.

Hawks Pick 5, and Future First (3 to 7) for
GWS Pick 2, and their future first (10 to 14).

GWS need to be careful being too cute with next years selections.
They've not got Toby for the first month or so, and clearly wanted more goal scoring power during the trade period - Which they failed to correct.
Unless a side that plays like rock stars then learns to win ugly whilst protecting lower totals, they could be in for some pain in 2022.

If Hawthorn are worried about next years future selection, combining the 2022 GWS R1 selection (10-14) and Hawthorns very own 2023 F1 selection will appease that. By 2023 you'd imagine the rebuild will be over the hump and an early 2023 selection's place in the pecking order won't be anywhere near as crucial as ensuring this current 2021 R1 selection is absolutely nailed - Callahan, Day and DGB is the future. Hobbs/Ward, Day and DGB just isn't as complimentary of each other, as the latter (obviously).
I truly feel that getting Callahan is most sure fire way of nailing it. He's got game changer and game saver written all over him.

People freaking out over where next years selection sits need to take a deep breath. They aren't going to do a Collingwood and totally remove themselves from the first round. When you have a first rounder, you have plenty of power. When you don't, you are well well behind. If the Hawks make moves an still remain in the 2022 first round, its then on them to improve their position once more, just like they'll do in this draft, if they do intend on getting pick 2.

FYI- I'm basing the GWS 2022 R1 selection of 10-14 on a personal viewpoint that they will struggle with a fairly bland forward line which will not have Toby for the initial part of 2022. I cant see them averaging more than 75 a game in 2022.

Twomey saying on Hawks Insiders that Giants won’t trade back to 5 because it’s too far back for them.

More likely they’d go back a pick or two, but he thinks the top 5 probably doesn’t change.

So who do Adelaide want that the giants want? Or maybe gc?
Everyone wants Callaghan, but Giants may want Andrew or Gibcus.

If Callaghan is not there at the Crows pick they either take Rachele or trade back to 8 to get NWM before Saints/Bombers/Port.

I would have thought if the Giants are eyeing off Andrew of Gibcus, pick 5 would be fine for them to trade back to?

Rumour alert

Most recent post on the draft rumours thread is an interesting read. Richmond supporter has us trading 5 + future 1st for gws pick 2 + future 2nd. Apparently it's done but afl wants to keep it for draft night to keep it interesting.

I came here as well as I was curious about how possible a trade like that is. According to the Richmond supporter you guys really really rate Callaghan. Would be a massive trade if true, a very bold trade.

It's been mentioned how big the club is on Callaghan he is exactly what we are missing, I'll back them in if it actually does happen. It would be a disaster if it panned out similar to the gws /coll trade but If we were to finish in the 14-11 range something like 5+6 for 2+26 isn't to bad imo.

We can always trade up next year anyway.

If we've got a trade done for Pick 2, and we get Callaghan. Good.

I think the poster might be talking shit though.

Most likely a lot of sh*t. If true, 21 and 24 will almost certainly be shopped for future firsts, or maybe even seconds.

Deals like

21 and 24 for ----- Geelong F1 and 30
---------
21 for WBD F1 (allowing them back in after matching)
---------
24 for Adelaide F2

5, F1(5), 21 = 4635 points
2, 13, F2(30) = 4358 points

Using the points system this looks like a fair trade that's weighted towards GWS. I'm a bit worried we are putting to many eggs in one basket if we are prepared to give up more than that.

You got to pay a premium though to move up. Won't be an equal trade.

I would hope that we wouldn't offer more than either

5, 21 and F1 for 2 and 13
Or
5, F1 and F2 for 2, F1 and F3

Both of those deals are strong deals to move up, but the rumoured deal of a F1 sliding to their F2 is overs

We do really rate him from what I had heard, mind you this was months ago when we were in position to have the second selection.
