Well he'd potentially be an upgrade on both the boys holding down the KPD duties currently, and don't forget I was a big wrap for Jordy long before we drafted him. Gibcus has real X factor/athleticism that Jordy and Nick just don't have. I recently watched one of his school games for St. Pats on a lousy day weather wise where he played ruck not his usual CHB and he was outstanding leaping over everyone.

I doubt we'd take him though. I think he likely lands at the Giants or Suns. If not there Carlton or the Saints poor bugger.
After we swap our first round pick with the Suns...

I don't think you've seen enough of Pedlar when he's up and going and fully fit, early in the season in 2020 he showed he's got plenty of athleticism in the few games he played for the Bays and he was a standout in that regard in one of the PAC streams I watched, he's actually as good aerially as Horne IMO and will hit the scoreboard any time he gets forward.
If he’s anything like Ben Cunnington with more speed we will be happy Bicks ! Don’t forget Cunnington can take a mark forward

Hi PMBangers. I'm a big fan!

I’d rather have signed Mackay on for 2022 than spend any draft capital this year on a defender.

Midfield, midfield, midfield, small forward.

I'd take Schoenberg over Pedlar at same age.
I think they are both going to be great players for us and will form the basis of our midfield for the next 10 years. Now we just need to add another quality mid with our first pick this year and our midfield is really starting to take shape...

Only 2 of the big three Panthers going around in the SANFL League team this weekend, J H-F and Arlo Draper, Matt Roberts has school football commitments with St.Peters. Another draftable Panther Isaac Birt moves up from U18's to Reserves for the first time this week.

if you could choose two mids outside of horne and callaghan who would they be? I know one would be draper. whos the other?

Channel 7 game too!

I wouldn't do that .....but struggling to see his weapons

Could have said the same about Keayes ....except his fierce desire to play AFL ....has Hately that same fierce desire ?
Most 21yos don't have fierce desire yet. What was Keays doing when he was 21. Not having a go but maybe when he matures he'll realise he needs to sharpen those mental attributes you speak of and not rely on him being a high pick and potential.

Yup, though if Hately isn't best 22 by the end of next year, he's all but finished with 2023 just being Hately helping our SANFL side.

After all, we're talking about someone who hasn't established himself in 5 years, and likelihood more long term midfielders at Adelaide have established themselves.
So maybe he doesn't end up in our mid. He's a good mark, maybe HF or FP

IMO & experience .....you either have that fierce desire or not ....can't be manufactured

Some unfortunately have an entitledness when the enter the AFL ......I'm not suggesting that with Hately, but you also have to have the skillset

Best example I can think of was Meesen .....had the skills and aggressiveness at U18 level .....but that aggressiveness was not evident at AFL level against bigger bodies .....I'm also confident in saying he didn't want it enough

He's in even more strife if he's gunning for a third/fourth tall position as I have Gollant and Cook as two of the best prospects at the club currently.

Hately really is a mid or bust prospect at the moment.

We shouldn't feel forced to feel like Hately, or any of our young talent, should be in our side going forward, honestly

That's the reality of a rebuilding list - you stockpile as much youth as you can, both top-end U18 talent and late pick smokies, and see who has the capabilities of making it at AFL level. We currently have youth bursting out of our ears, it's inevitable that a few guys we currently like the potential of might not be up to it long-term. And that's fine!

Intercol PAC v St Peter’s 1st 18 game being live streamed.

Dees call for NGA rule tweak as top-10 prospect slips out of reach
MELBOURNE recruiting manager Jason Taylor has called on extra layers to be added to the Next Generation Academy rules that are likely to see the Demons miss out on talented prospect Mac Andrew at this year's NAB AFL Draft.

The AFL changed the NGA rules for 2021 meaning clubs will not be able to match bids inside the first 20 selections of the draft for their multicultural and Indigenous Academy players. From pick 21 onwards, they will be able to select them under the bidding system.

Next year, they will only be able to match bids for NGA prospects after pick 41 in a significant phasing out of the program as a talent option for clubs after last year saw Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (Western Bulldogs, pick one) and Lachie Jones (Port Adelaide, pick 16) attract first-round bids as NGA players.

This year Dandenong Stingrays talent Andrew is the highest-rated NGA prospect in the pool and could be selected as a top-10 pick

The Demons' scouting boss, who has led the club's recruiting since 2013, also said the cut-off should be at pick No.18 given that accounts for each club's first-round selection, not No.20.

Melbourne traded its future first-round pick to Brisbane last year as part of a deal that saw them grab this week's NAB AFL Rising Star Jake Bowey and the yet-to-debut Bailey Laurie. It means the Dees' first pick for this year's draft is set to be in the mid-30
