Feel like we have a VERY busy two days coming up, then a lot of discussions still to be had before the actual draft. Remember that pick swaps can still happen right up to and on draft night.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that Freo might make a move for pick 4 if we decide to split our picks. We could possibly swap pick 4 for 6 & 19, or maybe even Pick 4 + Melbourne 1st for 6 & 8. Obviously depends on Freo being super keen on a particular player.

Well we demanded a first rounder from GWS to go from 4 to 6 with McAsey. Would expect we would need similar…

I don't really think it will happen, just trying to make a point that as well as looking to trade up to pick 1 or 2, we also have options to trade down. Either could happen and I have no idea what we will do!

Wouldn’t shock me if Port try and bundle up their first and Ladhams pick to get higher up in the first round. Very keen on NWM apparently.
Probably the last type of player they need.

And they don't have a pick for Ladhams yet, and might not get one.

I love Fejo, he is as smooth as they come but Rachele over him any day and I'd imagine I've got Fejo higher than 99% of draft watchers on my board atm.
Except me I'd say.
And I'd take Rachele before Fejo Jr too.
Fejo is a winger outside player more in the Wanganeen-Milera mould style wise but with a better contested game not a pacy clever small forward/midfielder like Rachele who has unbelievable goal sense, only needs a sniff around goals to convert.
Waiting for Twomey to get on the Ronny Fejo Jr train...I suspect that happens after he lights up the State Combine.

I just think we’ve already got our 2 Ben Hobbs on our list and in particular Luke Pedlar

there are other great point of difference players in this draft we can concentrate on eg Erasmus ( overhead marking ) , Goater ( speed / Power / versatility) , Draper ( speed/ versatility) , Rachele ( power , creative ) , Sonsie ( versatility , footy iQ)
The actual point of difference our midfield needs is being good.

Wouldn't want to drop past Richmond's pick.
Leaves Hawthorn, Freo and Richmond to neg with and they all have late 1sts or early 2nds.and have been link or look likely to be linked to a certain player.
Unfortunately I can't see us getting a high enough 2nd pick to get the likes of Draper

I think we will end up with 3 selections and ideally 4 in the main draft

1. Erasmus, Goater, Callaghan
2. Sinn, Chesser, Taylor, Butler
3. Clarke, Murley, Curtis etc
4. Fejo

If we go for Ward, Hobbs or Rachele with our 1st then
2. Howes or Knevitt
3. Clarke, Murley, Curtis
4. Fejo

Wouldn't melt if they took Mac but would if they took Gibcus.

Dawson PSD leaves us 2 x 1sts next year to trade in who ever we like.

I would be disappointed if Davis and O'Connor are still on our list draft night.
I sincerely doubt that we'll be splitting pick 4, and nor (in my opinion) should we.

We will almost certainly be making 2 draft selections in the ND, plus Dawson and 1-2 rookie upgrades (Butts and/or Strachan).

It's highly unlikely that we'll be making 4x ND selections.

GWS were able to get TWO first round level players by doing that pick swap.

That's not a same set of circumstances.

Wings are not an area of need right now. We already have Smith, Seedsman, Sholl, and Cook, and we're about to add Dawson to that list. We're well and truly covered, both for the short and long-term.

I make no comment about Fejo's quality as a player, just that he plays a position which we have no need of filling.

Cannot have too many players with X factor, this lad has moves those guys can only dream about.

More and more I watch of Hobbs I like. See plenty of Jacob Hopper, Selwood and a bit of Taylor Adams in him. Very tenacious.
These surefire 200 game combative contested/clearance beasts are a feature in every premiership contender and I think with Sloane coming to the end it's a great choice. Screams future captain.
Think there is enough point of difference between our young mids. Can definitely see him complimenting Schoenberg and Pedlar with outside class around them.

Van Berlo mk II maybe?

Haha yea mate I figured he'd be high on your board. Good thing is so far there's not too much noise about him but I'm sure clubs have done their due diligence on him. If he could last till 33 that would be incredible but for me, he should be long gone before then.

I was there, and it was an incredible performance.
I wasnt there.. but i watched it live..

you could also argue that he took a mark in the the 3rd 10m from goal… misjudged the location of an opponent, played on and was run down forcing him to miss the goal..

then, in the last, when the game was on the line and his team had all the momentum he missed two shots on goal (hit the post on both) and when streaming towards his forward 50 on another occassion delivered the ball straight over rhe head of his leading forward and onto the chest of an opponent..

Could argue these were costly mistakes that all contributed to souths not winning the game..

could also argue the reason souths had a heap of momentum in the last was due to JHF…

but the fapping over the kid that night by the two commentators was just way over the top..

and the ultimate question is… can he reproduce what he does at SANFL level consistantly at AFL level.. and do you take the risk of giving up the farm in the hope that he can.

Sorry - sarcasm meter should have had a wink after my original comment
Ok I'll admit van Berlo like Ben Hobbs never took a backward step and was hard at the contest but Ben projects a several levels above van Berlo with his innate ability to find the football and he's really started to hit the scoreboard consistently something Nathan lacked as do some of our current midfield mix.

Lynch, Murray, O'Connor & Kelly are highly unlikely to be going anywhere. Talia only goes if he decides to retire, and he certainly won't be pushed out by the club (though his decision may be influenced by his current injury problems).

Ironically, you've failed to rule a line through Strachan, who hits the limit of 3 years on the rookie list and is highly unlikely to be upgraded.

Davis & Mackay are the only two "easy" delistings, with Crouch a likely RFA departure.
You been saying that for a while but a different picture is being painted from what I can see so I wont be surprised to see us address our weaknesses and to do that with 2 picks is almost impossible.
While 4 maybe unlikely 2 would be more so imo.
Midfielders, Mid/For and Small forwards are in our hitting zone especially if we split the pick.

I mentioned the other day that from the highlights i have seen, i think he would be an excellent addition to our mix. If we somehow trade down with richmond and get their 7 and 15, hobbs if still there at 7 (if not i do like the look of goater) and a guy like draper or rachele at 15 would be great

Mate, he had an absolute blinder of a game. The definition of X-Factor.

Crows and Richmond would also appear to disagree with your assessment.
