Tigers two first rounders aren't overly appealing at 11 & 16. They would have to do some wheeling and dealing to get at least one (much) lower pick and maybe add a player.

A top 10 pick + a player for an out of contract 21 year old with 70 games under his belt?

Think that’s going way over the top when assessing Cerra’s value.

Would love to land Finn Callaghan in this years draft. I've had my eye on him for a couple months. Big footy draft watchers have had him in the 7-15 thus far, but Cal Twomey has listed him up at #4 (behind 2 f/s, so essentially #2 in the free draft) in his first phantom form guide of the year.

Callaghan is a good size, excellent kick, can run all day according to Twomey. Plays predominantly wing, but has also gone inside and shown capability in there which is positive - means he isn't just a meek outside winger.

Really think this kid could be a plug and play winger at AFL level in 2022.

I see the core of our midfield going forward as :
Cripps, Walsh, Dow, Stocker, Carroll and possibly Cuningham.
Still young but made of the stuff that is required at AFL level.
Definitely like to see Philp pushed/developed as a winger as again, he looks to be AFL friendly.
Need to see Ramsay exposed at the level as we need another winger.
Cerra may be that player but would cost our 1st rounder.
SPS, Martin and Fisher as clever, distributing high half forwards with Honey the “X” factor player.
Owies and Durdin deep small forwards but could use another more dynamic addition here.
Curnow, Kennedy, Gibbons, Fogarty cheap midfield depth if the club see fit to retain.
Setterfield may yield something at the trade table.
Retire : Murphy, Betts, Casboult
Delist : Newnes, O’Brien
Should our 1st rounder be required for Cerra, our 2nd rounder and anything gained from a Setterfield trade would likely need to be used in bolstering our KPP stocks.

Where do you see Kemp fitting in ?

Where do you see Kemp fitting in ?

Kemp has the versatility to play anywhere at this stage.
Will be interesting to see how he develops.
FWIW, and taking the liberty of adding Cerra, I’d like to see something like :

Docherty Jones Plowman
Saad Weitering Williams
Cerra Cripps Philp
Martin Curnow SPS
Fisher McKay McGovern

TDK Walsh Dow

Stocker Cuningham Carroll Kemp

Definitely Cerra if he’s at a reasonable cost would give us at least 3 elite midfielders an elite extractors in Cripps and two elite versatile classic midfielders in Walsh and Cerra to compliment.
Another elite top 5 pick as per 2021 draft and engine room is just about right, remaining part time, conditional midfielders will help as needed.
If Dow, SPS , Fisher or Gov. , have possible suitors I’d consider trading them and improve our position.

Cerra an elite midfielder?

Nowhere near it.

would you put stocker in the elite footskills category? I thought that was what made him particularly enticing as draftee.
Stocker is a good kick, not elite consistency.

Cerra is a very good kick sans the high end elite capability of Daniel, Pendles etc

My preference would be the free agent Josh Kelly and then Shai Bolton, but the Lloyd/Freo/Cerra connection may prove to make the deal easier/cheaper than the others.

Just from the little I've seen, while they're both very good by foot I'd describe Stocker as "safe" and Cerra as "damaging" by foot.

When Stocker's got the ball I'm very confident he'll find and hit a target.

When Cerra's got the ball I expect him to hit a target that most players wouldn't have the confidence to try.

Josh Kelly with his 7million asking price? Overrated and would not consider. Just what we need another GWS dud. Probably join us, play one game and do his knee or come back from pre-season the size of a house. . Lloyd won't be at the club next year.

Josh Gibcus please.
Need another key defender, Cal rates him around 6, roughly our pick. Takes a couple of years for players to come on, perfect to replace Jones and hopefully we’d be in the pushing into the top 6 around that time.

I think we have enough mids, next year is the time to let Lob/Dow/Setters/ Cunners/Stocker/SPS play in their preferred positions

Some really good talls late 1st round into the 2nd round
I'd love to somehow manufacture 3 picks inside the top 30 this year.

As it stands we have 2 (our 1st and 2nd rounders).

If we could somehow move Setterfield, McGovern and Gibbons for picks that we could then combine for a pick in the late 20s (if a club wants points for academy of father-sons) that would be ideal in my book.

Would love a genuine winger (Callaghan), a genuine small forward to replace Eddie and a young KPF.
Keep our 4th rounder to match a late bid on Charlie McKay to round out our 4 draftees.

I'd be hesitant to part ways with any picks this off-season, we need a consistent stream of young talent coming through the door every season, especially after only taking 2 picks after #35 last year.

Setterfield, McGovern and Gibbons for a pick in the late 20s is pretty poor horse trading.

Gibbons not worth much, if anything, on the market, and is a good (and cheap) depth option to hold onto.

Setters and Gov could easily attract a late second by themselves to the right club.

North Melbourne and Hawthorn could both probably be convinced to pony up for either to assist with their rebuilds, as both have the "potential" to outperform that kind of outlay. Might depend on what else is on the market and whether they have preferred targets elsewhere though.

Collingwood in the same boat but lacking the picks to get it done. Potential for a player trade though.

St Kilda may nibble at Gov given their forward struggles.

Essendon were interested in Setters last time he moved and may still be.

Think there's opportunities to cash in should we be that way inclined, though I'm not convinced that our list management has that sort of ruthlessness yet. Since offloading Tuohy at the end of 2016, the only player we've actually traded to another club is Andrew Phillips.

I wouldn't trade any of them, lack of return. You trade futures of you have a trade target.

And no, we have enough that can play small forward and or you can find cheaper options late in the draft.

I want the club to target spine players, for the now and long term

How are you raising the currency to get these players? We have a 1st and a 2nd, on its own, it isn’t much.

If the club thinks any players are unable to perform consistently at the required level and have currency, move them on.

I feel the club will definitely be moving on one or two players come trade time and Gov and Setters are top of my list.

This place changes quicker than I can type this post. I bet a couple of weeks ago, everyone had Kennedy in the delist column

As you know, we can trade back, use futures and yes, we can trade out some players that may have currency

But right at this moment, Gov and Setters have next to no value

Or we can still target FA, or Fog (forget the player for the moment) type deals, which allows us to remain in the draft

It's a chunky deep ish draft, as well as some decent value in undervalued OOC players, let's see how it evolves from here
