In a heart beat, remember we were going to take him in the draft but Sydney got in first... Then we split our pick...
Has pace and elite by foot, not sure why he hasn't played more for Sydney...

Could be ever bit as good as Cerra, but at a quarter of the price
I’ve got him as one of a handful of targets I’d be heavily chasing this trade period, if the club chase and land Cerra then good for us but I’d be going for this kid before him, along with a couple of other players that i think that our team list really lacks and needs in a few areas...

I’ve got a rough draft atm but for a bit of fun I’m going to wait until the end of the home and away season is over then post up a couple of ideas on possible scenarios with trades, draft picks, delistings, retirements and what the overall list hopefully can look like from my perspective...

Disappointed that list sizes are remaining the same, but glad that rookies can now spend a 4th year on the list. Lots to unpack here...

Bugger...
Means Owies, can spend another year as a CATB rookie though :thumbsupv1:

With him stating he hoped he got through to us on draft night, think we are a huge chance if he wants to come home to Vic.

I like Riccardi also FBB, who else is in the line of your thinking?

Posted this earlier in the Bluemour thread...

Tom Morris just reported that Cerra is increasingly likely to nominate Carlton as his club of choice.

Don't know how I feel about it. Don't we want to give Dow/Kennedy/LOB as much opportunity in the midfield as possible? Don't we want Stocker to eventually move out of the backline? Getting Cerra just prevents that.

Dylan Stephens anyone?
With Sydney under salary cap pressure and this kid being out of contract.
I think we could persuade him to come to us, we could quite possibly be able to get him for a second rounder.
We need a wingman with pace I think Dylan is the perfect player for us and hope we are talking to his management.

Huge fan of his during his draft year, I think if he does get squeezed out of Sydney though I think it'd likely be to a SA team.

What about our star recruit in Williams.
Considering we still have Newnes, Curnow and guys like Cots getting rotations in our midfield, I'm sure we can fit in Cerra.

Cottrell isn't even in the side anymore and Curnow has been playing mainly as a forward. I don't know, I just have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of Cerra on a wing than some think.

50/50 split seems about right, but that does mean it's extremely hard for Stocker to become a part of our midfield long term - hope he doesn't turn into another SPS like wasted talent in the backline.

I would like Eddie to head up our indigenous programme .. and be an assistant forward line coach.
Could keep Eddie on the rookie list and play a few games if needed, but mainly used as an assistant coach to keep the soft cap under control. Rules are meant to be bent.

Murphy, Casboult, Marchbank and Eddie will free up a reasonable amount of dosh which will allow us to chase a couple elite players.

So now we are also throwing Marchbank on the scrap heap. Not only we must obviously have plenty of talented KP defenders but delisting him after a knee is a really impressive move, IMO.

At the other end need to pay Harry, JSOS, Stocker and others more, plus keep money in the bank for Walsh and others who will improve.

Looks like Adelaide is the likely team for Dylan Stephens :sadv1:
Really hope we are actually inquiring behind the scenes, wouldn't be surprised if not though the interest in Stephens was from SOS...

I was a big fan of Stephens in his draft year and wanted us to snatch him then however his first two years at Sydney have been a little underwhelming. Not that there’s anything wrong or unusual with that. I just think at this stage in our list build, we are better off targeting either proven players from other clubs and/or draftees. No more paying overs for potential IMO.

Bingo. We need to trust the kids we have built through the draft. All 3 players mentioned above should not be on our list next year and if by chance they are, they should be depth and/or mentoring in the VFL. We have talent, just need to play them correctly and give them more opportunity.
