What about the shovel throw from Selwood that led to a Geelong goal? What about the blatant throw by Neale that led to the ball even being in Brisbane's forward line? Umps pay that and it's game over anyway.

As usual from the AFL its clear as mud.
My personal favourite
This was one of the most mind boggling decisions of all time.
There was a time when journalists spoke truth to power. The elites hated them. They were rough, hard-edged.
The one above has to be the worst free, there’s no way the umpire could have been fooled into something by a player faking.can't for the life of me see how a free was given to Waite. Any idea what it was for?
my recollection of the worst free of all time was one paid to Chris Grant at Footy Park for push in the back. Grant did the motion of being pushed in the back which the umpire fell for, but when they showed the replay from behind, no part of his opponent's body/limbs was within a foot of him.
I don't know if they can do it this way, But can a political reporter make a big deal of the incident and the paper he works for makes it front-page news. Is that possible?I don't buy this reason. I work in what could be described as a "close knit" and "insular" industry and I would be disgusted in myself if I conducted my reporting like sports journalists do.
The real reason is that sports journalists are terrified of having their access taken away.
And they have let themselves get into that position. It's a disgrace

it was right in front of him.
That’s what I mean I can forgive an umpire when he’s fooled by a player.I can't remember where the umpire was positioned, but because Grant did the motion of being pushed the umpire "assumed" it was a push.
A Port mate of mine saw was watching it with me and said it was a clear push in the back, but upon seeing the replay was laughing uncontrollably.
It’s unbelievable, well not really I guess.
Correct! Have done that a few times.Yeah the kiosks at least were open, but go to North Indian cuisine on Hindley street on your way in, cheaper and much better!
FTFYJoel Selwood is ablight on the game. campaigner
Next to McDonalds
Joel Selwood is a blight on the game. One of the all time worst people to ever step foot on the field
Interesting Scott saw the Rohan behind the play incident and was comfortable with it especially given Neale started it and it was only across the chest
My favourite part of that whole thing is how the AFL brought in a rule to stop paying the Selwood free kick, and then stopped paying it for literally everybody in the comp apart from Selwood. It makes it very difficult to appreciate him for the player he is (and he is a very good player). It’s actually a blight on the people around him that nobody sat him down right at the start of his career and said “Look, get this crap out of your game. It might cost you a few kicks here and there, but you are too good for this and your legacy to the game is much more important than a few cheap free kicks.”
Now he’s just going to be remembered as a c**t by everybody except his most ardent supporters.
Which brings me to the primary issue. For 15 years these extraordinarily stupid umpires have paid these free kicks, week in, week out. It would take LITERALLY one round to stamp this thing out for good with the correct umpiring.
That haircut and the fake tan. He's inherited Dermie's mid-life crises.I don’t think he’s seen himself in the mirror lately either
