Sweet. Not only have we made the top5 in Olympic standing, we've also made the illegal to protest list.
Countries where it illegal to protest the government:
North Korea
China
Iran
Belarus
Australia

So like the Hunger Games but for Olympics

No doubt countries like China will still dominate though as they'll have all their kids put through rigorous training camps from like 2 years of age...

US probably wouldn't dominate as much though.

Has there ever been an athlete so awesome, they participate in more than one sport?

Like not just many swimming races- I mean swimmer and a water polo player

There have been a few Olympians who have competed in both the summer and winter Olympics. Don't think there have been any to contest more than one sport at the same Games though.

Pretty sure the early athletes did

I have seen it more with our para-athletes though, but not within the one Olympics campaign
- Dylan Alcott played wheelchair basketball from 2004 to 2012 including 2 Olympic in which he won gold and silver
- then turned to tennis in 2014 and has been crazy good at that since

Pretty sure we've also had 1 or 2 para-athletes compete at both summer and winter Paralympic

Fred De Leux mentioned one a couple of weeks ago I think?
Can't remember who it was or what for though

I was going to question this, but remembered ScoMo saying that folks were lucky they weren't shot at after the women protests earlier this year, so it must be true.

That's just the tip of the iceberg for the ScoMo clusterf**k of screw-ups since he has become PM too. Never known someone so incompetent and out of their depth as PM as this doofus is.

Native American Jim Thorpe won the pentathlon and the decathlon in 1912, but was stripped because he played some semi-pro baseball before the Games. He also played major league baseball and early NFL after the games. An amazing athlete.

Jana Pittman going from athletics to bobsled
Reginald ‘Snowy’ Baker - rugby union, swimming, diving, boxing

Baker claimed a silver medal in the middleweight boxing division at the 1908 Olympics.

At the same Games, Baker also swam in the 4 x 200m freestyle relay (finishing fourth) and competed in the diving (knocked out in the first round).
