Aside from JS my other concern with Tom Green is his lack of TOG, he only had 66% TOG in 2020. GWS's main inside mid Jacob Hopper only averages 74% TOG over the 5 years that he's been in the team (75.6% in 2020) Playing them both doesn't help matters as both are primarily inside mids and aren't of much value resting forward. So unless Green can displace Hopper as the Giants #1 inside mid this year, don't expect much more than 70% game time from either.
Still, a 72 ave from 66% TOG is impressive and makes Green a SC friend

I put the time trial result in my post to suggest Tom has worked very hard on his endurance ...... guess we’ll have a better idea after the PS matches

What do you think of this before I ruin it?

Only 8 if you really look at it

Hurn avg 80/85 at D6
Heppell and Cunners avg 90/95 at M7/8
Taranto 100/105 at M6
Get Gawn and Grundy
Ziebell maybe a 85/90 avg but probably too many injuries etc
so upgrade 3 FWDS of which there are many to choose from.
Heppell at M7/8 is a joke. He's bench cover at best. Getting picked because he'll make 100k if you're lucky.
Similar to hurn who will fall off further in 2021.
Cunners and Toranto speculative keepers at best.
Bar the last 2 I count 10 players to be traded for a full side, not including how many picks you'll actually need to get there.
The point of taking cheaper rucks is to get 2 extra premos in the side but you've missed the mark.

Really? Never would have guessed having read it. ;)

Improved endurance in itself doesn't equate to more game time in a stacked midfield when you're primarily an inside mid and there's already one in the side. Endurance was listed as a strength in Tom's draft profile so I don't believe it was a huge issue and more to do with a knee injury slowing him down late in his draft year and early 2020.

Speaking of that recent GWS time trial, good to see Taranto finishing 1st hopefully that bodes well for him bouncing back to something close to SP.

Yeah green was never a bad pick, especially in 2021 when he was 123k.
Was more about him not getting a consistent role on field and being in/out of the side.
Hopefully that changes now but not sure of the GWS structure. I don't think their mid dynamic will be any different with the roster changes.

What's the reasoning behind the Rayner pick?
I think he was starting to get some more midfield time last season and with Cockatoo potentially coming into their forwardline and Zorko being played forward more i think the next progression for Rayner is to spend more time in the midfield. He won't start there but with a good preseason i think he will feature more prominently. The knock on Rayner was always fitness, with another decent preseason he should be able to play a few more stints in the midfield. I'm by no means set on him but i think there is potential there

Only comment would be that 8 on- field rookies this year is way too many

My preferred would by 4 On-field Rooks ... although i’m struggling with 5 currently, because i’ve gone Gawn / Grundy

I have confidence in you 🥸.... you’ll need a few more mid pricers

I have made quite a lot of changes with this team since my last a few days ago. I have got rid of Neale for Petracca. The Backline is the same but the midfield isn't as strong but I have the 3 big guns in the forward line so they can be swung around if needed. Marshall is gone I doubt I would need to swap him in the Ruck and would prefer a midfielder for virtually the same price. All this while still keeping Gawn & Grundy.

More scotch and cokes = another team.

Backline stays the same which I really like.

I also love F4, F5 and F6 in this team which is really solid.

No Lloyd, Neale and Gawn but you can't fit them all in.

Only 3 rookies on the ground.

Very tempted to go with this team if rookies are scarce come round 1.

Stong team.

Perfect structure for guns and rookies this year I reckon.

I believe Green's SC scoring in junior football was phenomenal so he's certainly going to end up a major SC mid premo. 2021 might be a bit early for him though.

Bailey Berry McCarthy and Cameron would get more midfield time before Rayner hate to say it but he just doesn’t have the tank to become a full midfielder where the others mentioned above have

McCarthy and Cameron are way more use up forward though so I dont see them getting too much midfield time. The other 2 definitely take time away from Rayner but im not entirely sure that Rayner cant develop a decent tank to at least play a little more in the middle. Im not hoping for miracles really, the Lions have enough other options, but i think another preseason under his belt surely cant harm Rayner's chances. With all that said, i doubt ill end up picking him but ill watch him in the preseason for sure.

Excellent, love a mid-pricer.

Ok Kents I've found a way to settle the argument about the Rucks. I've got all 3 of them now I honestly can't lose:thumbsu: I call it the Devils Threesome:devilv1:
