From some reports we're going to be stuck with limited rookie options this year.
Might be worth stacking midpricers and then upgrade as you go.
I went the midpricers plan a couple of years ago with about 10 and although a couple worked out many ended up being just that midpricers not going up in value enough and hard to upgrade to anyone decent. I currently have 4 Heppell,Brown,Ziebell and Impey I wouldn't go anymore than that the rookies will come but a lot might only get a few games unless a team is smashed with injuries.

That's fine but when you're stuck with maybe 12 rookies at most getting a run at most you have to think out of the box otherwise you're stuck for cash gen.
Plenty of 'ok' scoring options at that 250-450k mark this year.

That's the problem most end up just "ok" scoring options and need to be upgraded which is hard if they aren't making any money. I agree it will probably be much harder this year and trading rookies will be more critical to get the timing right than ever.

If it wasn't for the bunch of extra trades we were gifted last season most of us would have ended up with incomplete teams due to lack rookie cash gen. I'm going to assume that we won't get any extra trades this year and will also assume that most of the rookies that do get games won't have great JS and that upgrades for the most part will require 2 rookies down for 1 up. At least with mid-pricers they only have to make a small amount of money before you can upgrade them via a 1 up & 1 down as premo's starting prices inevitably drop.

Agree we wont get near to the same number of trades as we got in 2020.
But if you can get 10-12 set and forget players and 3-5 mid pricers that could become keepers but at the very least make 100-150k then you'll be in a lot better position than most in 2021. Most of those mid priced players should at least end up as a decent d6/f6/m8 or first bench cover player.
I guess you'd still expect to spend 20 trades overall to make your full side either way.

I’m also guessing that people won’t trade as silly as we did this year. Of course this excludes Judd_Magic 🤣🤣

Pretty happy with this as a first attempt. Expecting Gawn and Grundy to score much more similarly this season and can't see why Preuss can't be a big success as first ruck. Less confident about Cripps becoming a worthwhile scorer again after a season and a half of utter mediocrity. I'm not as pessimistic about the rookies as many here are, but being able to fill out the team may become a problem.

I’m certainly weeping looking at it.

Just something I threw together this afternoon in case we get stuff all rookies for round 1, not my real team.

I honestly think it's an ok team bar the midfield which is a bit light on for star power after Mitchell and Cripps.

Backs, rucks and forwards are pretty solid though...
