Yeah, let him get his plaing out of the way, then a bit of low level coaching to get up to speed with industry intel and how other clubs do things, then back to us as a fully fledged assistant if he looks the real deal.

The fact that it doesn't shouldn't be too surprising though. Rivalries, success, he just never seemed to take any of it all that seriously.

I'm not having a go at him at all. He never seemed the type to need for his career to be defined by a flag. Seemed the balanced type that just wanted to pursue a career in football while contributing to a club and community. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. He did that well at Ports and will be a Port man forever for this reason.
But that type of bloke is hardly the type that's gonna turn down an opportunity to do that at the only other South Australian AFL team when the chance arises.

Maybe he has nothing outside of footy, no other AFL team was interested and he got offered more $ with them? Maybe that’s all it’s is in reality.
Heard he wasn’t expecting what happened, maybe he’s pissed and needs a fresh start.

Yep for sure.
I feel like people might be misinterpreting my post a bit.
I'm just saying that I couldn't imagine a bloke like Josh Carr or Mark Ricciuto ever jumping to the other side after finishing with one. That stuff meant more to them. I'd say there are a fair few players in both sides now that would make that same jump without much hesitation if it came down to it and made sense for their own lives.
