Not necessarily, if he is not no 1 ruck this season he will be by 2023. At Port, it seems like it was made clear to him that he was unlikely to ever be no 1 barring something happening to Lycett and Hayes.

Hickey is older than Lycett and the Swans don't have a Hayes equivalent. He may not be their #1 immediately but he would be within a year or two. At Port he may never get that opportunity.

I think the Wingard thing is a pipe dream whilst this coach is still at the helm. Could go a Mitchell or O'Meara though, but very much doubt teams are stumping up 1sts even if they may be worth it.
