Would have to be the most boring trade period all round for quite some time.
The last hour of the last day is usually a doozie...

What Adelaide time does Trade Period end?
Only thing it changes is that the pressure is on Sydney to come up with a deal that we are happy with. Hard to walk away qhen you know a player has nominated you.Ladhams officially nominates Sydney.
I dont think it changes much as it seems lik it has been Sydney or stay all week and he's still contracted
AFL probably holding some deals back to have on Fox Wednesday night.

Back ended to apparently be $400k per the article...can't seeing being on less if he moves to Sydney anyhow. Not exactly ridiculous dollars. After we got Rockliff, Motlop, and Watts at end of 2017 and the in 2018 we failed to make finals and club said these guys can't take us to a flag, we have traded out the following players.
2018 Wingard (2019)+ Pittard (2019) + Hombsch (2019) under contract, Polec contract ended
2019 Howard contracted (2022), Ryder + Frampton contract ended
2020 Nobody traded out
2021 Ladhams look for options, contracted (2022) and backended deal.
Sydney have said they will pay the $400k in 2022, but he wont be on that in 2023-24. Supposedly his 3 year deal with Port was just under $700k.Back ended to apparently be $400k per the article...can't seeing being on less if he moves to Sydney anyhow. Not exactly ridiculous dollars.
I heard on the radio this morning that some Adelaide City Councillor wants the Victoria Park race-track road grassed over, so shifting the F1 to the Port would be great!I’d love the F1 to come to the Port… imagine the F1’s ripping down Commercial Rd!
Also wtf is with players telling clubs they want a trade two days before trade period ends.
Its not about the $$$ and cap space. Trading someone out whilst they are in contract, means the other side have to be prepared to pay $$$ and have to offer more to get him whilst he is contracted than if he was out of contract. In 12 months time Ladhams might not have played any more games as 1st ruck at Port, so if he wants to move because of this again in 12 months time, Port has less bargaining strength than it has today. What’s the point of freeing up 400k in the salary cap if we aren’t brining in a big name though
the whole salary cap argument for letting ladhams go confuses me
So his first two years were at approx $150k a year? Pretty crazy to offer $400k in the third year then in hope the player becomes something/doesn't get a bad injurySydney have said they will pay the $400k in 2022, but he wont be on that in 2023-24.
