Any interest in 10 and our future second for 14 and 18?
Personally I wouldn’t as I really hope we take two first rounders this year and I think the club agrees from what’s been said in interviews.
18 and our future first for 10 and a future second I’d find pretty tempting.

As a paying member I expect that the club will provide entertainment during the off season including making trades which are high stakes and interesting to members. So far this trade period has been a real disappointment.

Fox sports have said the cats aren’t letting Fort go unless they have signed another ruckman… this will delay our plans I presume, or have we moved on to other targets?

We can always wait and take Cox or Casboult as DFA

I did see DK say on TV that he thinks contenders should be going hard this week and gave the example of Dogs going after Goldstein to fix their ruck issues and Port going after Coniglio and/or Shiel.
I like this thinking. I still think we are one midfielder short.

Delay? I would hope that we were asking a number of ruck types around the league before this came out.

Yeah true - good call
I feel it’s a case of one trade being done and the ruckman will fall into place (holding pattern at the moment)

I think our best option is to wait and see what happens with the Geelong ruck situation and if they do end up keeping Fort there are ruck options for us later in the offseason.

I'd make that trade.

As far as opposition trade scenarios, I don't think we can accuse brutus76 of being unreasonable here.

14+18+50 for 11+2022R1. That's 2 late first rounders and a 3rd rounder for a mid-first rounder and a likely mid-first rounder. Certainly not ripping us off...

I think the criticism is more likely coming from people suggesting that we don't need 2022 first rounders. That's only somewhat correct. There's nothing wrong with us holding 2022 first rounders. We may trade them down a bit for points before the 2022 draft, but they're still currency, and we have this draft and next trade period to cash in the currency for something else we want at the time.

As a hypothetical scenario. No one shout me down over trade values etc. Let's say this deal does go down & Lachie also leaves.

We then have pick 6 (+ steak knives), + pick 11.

Next year we have two first rounders, but lo & behold, Sam Walsh realizes he can't go on not playing for the Lions & requests a trade. Luckily we have two first rounders to get the job done.

In 2021 pick 6, pick 11 (Obviously the rising star winner & runner up rising star not to mention future all australians)
In 2022 Sam Walsh, Will Ashcroft.

Out: Some picks and a player.

Then we just sit back & play the waiting game. Yes, that's clearly a Simpsons segue setup.

So yes, first round picks are not worthless for us next year.

No mention of Oliver?

Recently reported that Sam Walsh is in no hurry to extend his current deal beyond next year.

🤔

No left foot, one first rounder.
