Tsatas sliding murmurs seem too good to be true. His athleticism in the NAB champs game was hampered, as well as at the combine. Is that scaring clubs?

Very poor defensively, not particularly damaging, and testing showed he wasn't quite as explosive or agile as initially suspected (likely hampered by injury).

Can see why he might slide. At his best last year I thought he was shoe in for the #1 pick. Could see him going anywhere from pick 2 to pick 6.

Has a very high ceiling IMO but of the big 4 of the draft has the most risk.

Wardlaws hammys would worry me just given how explosive he is and how high you’d need to take him. Could be anything though

I think he just has too much fight in him to not become at the very worst a 200+ game solid inside mid.

The upside is through the roof though.

Isn't Busslinger from WA?
Apparently he was the Aus kick winner in 2012 (so since 8 not 10) in 2012 and presented the Prem medal to Goodes and became friends with Selwood, who has mentored him ever since. He also supports Geelong because of his friendship with Selwood.

McKenzie is a point of difference, we don't have a mid with his speed on our list.
Or his class and ability, he reminds me so much of Mundy/Pendles because he attracts the players around him and fires off a perfect releasing handball or laces out a forward, his ability with time and space is top notch and he's seriously explosive and quick.

I don’t get it personally. You say he was a lock for pick 1 going into the year, and since then he’s

  • tested very well pre season
  • ave 35 disposals in nab league
  • won the oakleigh best and fairest
  • got 29 disposals and 5 clearances in his 1 champs match
  • fractured his foot and missed 3 months

Yes he is poor defensively but he should turn into an absolute metres gained weapon that can accumulate. Also potential to be a decent clearance player. Whilst inconsistent by foot, at times he’s very good.

Everyone assumes we are taking Wardlaw in front of him, but assuming his foot is ok (I see Callaghan has ongoing foot issues) I’d love him at north.

Don't see the dislike for Tsatas here, blokes an absolute weapon.

Very good kick, super explosive, composure, good inside game, good size, good tank & dominated the NAB all year, got injured which hampered his testing but by god, he's very very good.

Noted in one of the other draft boards, one of the most pure outside ball winners and explosive onto ball players i've seen and that they had, like see outside loose ball, get outside loose ball quicker than anyone else.

Would be a no brainer if he falls, if not we get MacKenzie or Clark.

Even Phillipou, we cannot miss this pick, there's so much talent here.

So disappointing draft hand given all the potential was really keen to be in the teens for Jefferson hotton hollands etc opportunity missed. Moving on keen to package if possible for a second rounder but also not as sold on the draft not having some decent later picks. If we hold 1 or 2 of the 40s picks assuming no bid on vickery or Lawrence then from what little I have seen would be keen to add from players like jonti schuback noah long Jaxon binns or Harry Lemmey who I think has a future as a kpd.

Is it just me or is there alot of ? next to this years crop at the top end.

Cadman , Sheezle and Ashcroft look safe bets.
After that its a chook raffle. Whether it be injury, lack of athleticism, limited skills or attitude/playing syle.

There will be hits, but I think quite a few misses also. I can see why West Coast split and dropped back. Busslinger, Hewitt, Ginbey along with Hollands, Binns, Hustwaite etc. there are some underated gems in there I think.

I don’t get it but hope it’s true. He’s the player I’ve wanted for months. Reminds me of Bailey Smith

It’s surprising how much seems to have changed once games stopped being played. Cadman has become a pick 1 lock after never being talked as a top 3 pick and Tsatas sliding.

If he slides to our pick just watch for the shit eating grin on Sam’s face.

Cadman was always going to be a possibly top three pick depending on which club held the those picks, but as soon as the Giants got one it was obvious as to why.
The Giants love picking up country kids as they have no tie to Melbourne and no go home factor.

I like Tsatas and think that he/Wardlaw fills our biggest need and I am just trying to rationalise why his stock may have dropped over the last few months. I'd still snap him up at a heartbeat if he was somehow available to us.

Does the Cooper Stephens acquisition change our line of thinking at all? Considering his strengths are centred around being an inside distributor does that mean a player like Clark becomes less attractive to us? Not a similar player necessarily, but it certainly makes me think a mid more capable of playing outside with some dynamic athletic traits is what we'll be seeking.

The Phillipou rumours might hold some weight now.
