That's a very strange one. Would have thought Petracca, De Goey or Luke Parker were the easiest Humphrey comparisons for the purpose of one of these articles.
I'd say Clarry but with a fwd game.

As a pure mid they seem similar "types".

So the best player in the comp, but better. Sounds good.
Similar types, comparisons aren't made to say a player will be as good as another, more so traits.

He's explosive and is a bit of a wayward inconsistent kick at times, has the tools to refine and like Clarry jumped up draft boards.

So just imagine Oliver in his u18 days, but further advanced at the same age.

Oliver was a bit puddy around his draft time lmao

Darcy Jones, a native of Western Australia, seems to be a very intriguing talent available for our selection. He played well against SA to end the National Championship. Although he plays as a midfielder, I believe he is more than capable of acting as a true small forward. Konstanty is an absolute star, as we saw against Northern on the weekend. However, his goal and field kicking certainly need to be improved. Olli Hotton caught my eye against SA in the champs, as he did again against Oakleigh, but I believe he needs to be more consistent. Charlie Clarke is another great talent, as he's outperformed Sheezel at certain times of the season. I would certainly be happy with anyone of these guys as we'll get a quality small forward that we need.

For those who watch closely (and assuming we get another early pick say lions first at 13 as 6 clearly too early) what about Henry hustwaite? From the little I’ve seen looks like a tall strong marking smooth mover with great foot skills - feels like a great complement to our existing mid group. Appreciate any insights cheers

Great kid. Can't go wrong with him from a character perspective.

He just looks like a natural half back at AFL level. At least to start with. Might not suit our needs but still a quality pick up.

Great quality available at pick 7. If we’re keen on another midfielder then the clear standout for me that is certain to be a star is Elijah Hewett. Tough, fast, class, strong overhead, goal kicking midfielder, kicks off both feet. He‘ll be playing round 1 for whoever drafts him.

He can go pick one and there wouldn’t be an issue, he’s a special talent.

Hewett can be very inconsistent. His allies champs game was rather shocking, he looked lost at stoppages and his defensive effort was there some contests and a mile away at others. If anything he's the top-end player with the largest potential range, he could be an all-time great or he could never get his production up to AFL level and peters out as a Danny Howe type in-and-out player.

Players like Mackenzie and Clark have had performances that are just as prolific as Hewett with greater consistency, hardly ever faltering from their best. Humphrey and Phillipou are players with a similar level of flexibility between the midfield and forward line, but again both with more consistency and arguably larger upside with Humphrey's athletic power and Phillipou's class on the edge of the pack and forward craft. It'd be a pretty big gamble to take Hewett over any of these four and if we were really keen I'd advocate trading back to get some value since he'll be there around the 10-15 range.

The good news is that the quality will certainly be there at our first pick. I also like McKenzie. Anybody picking up those 2 in this draft will have a class Midfield. Clubs like GWS and GC are well positioned.

I'm really looking forward to this draft regardless of whether we are able to upgrade our pick or not.

I think if we did somehow then any of Sheezel, Wardlaw or Tsatas would be brilliant.

And if not, then we will still have be able to select one of Humphrey, Clark, Phillipou or Mackenzie.

We could do will all of those players.

He’s Bont size and listed to have the following strengths:

AERIAL ABILITY
ATHLETICISM
CLEAN HANDS
SCOREBOARD IMPACT
VERSATILITY
OVERHEAD MARKING

In slippery conditions v Vic Metro:

Looked super clean by hand and foot in these highlights for the most part after a scratchy start, he's got great touch on those kicks, and really smooth movement in traffic – was gliding around guys.

If his sprint time is sub 3 seconds he would be exactly what we need you'd think. He looks to be a guy who has a bit more time than everyone else. Combine that with his kicking and it's a pretty compelling proposition.

On the critical side his kicking action looked a little suspect though when he went for distance, couple of times he didn't look to really kick right through the ball. Decent highlights from that game, you can see obvious ability and potential for a lot more.

The thing about him that really stood out for me was that he takes the time to assess his options before disposing of the ball.

I’d be happy with him at our selection, I especially love the way he moves through traffic… looks very smooth for his size.

And he kicks it well on his non preferred right foot as well which is an absolute bonus given his flexibility as he could exit packs on any angle and deliver a quality ball going forward.
