We don't really have that much coverage as far as half back flanks go, and we've seen the difference creative and aggressive half backs can make to a team, so makes sense.

It might be a reach, but it's becoming clear that there isn't anyone that we really rated.

Hawks can match bid from 40, our current selection.

We’d have to trade up but maybe the cost of doing so isn’t worth it or the motivation from other clubs isn’t there.

Obviously we really wanted him so hope we got it right.

Tell you what, Braeden Campbell isn't feeling much love from this draft. The two spots he might have hoped to get in the team just got some big competition.

We can all get up in arms about who the club chooses but we don't know half the shit Beatson & co would know.

For example I would've liked us to get Van Es. He was definitely my pick based on descriptions and highlights. I also know the club interviewed him twice. But for all we know, they interviewed his high school principal and found out he's got a bad habit of sticking "Kick me" post-it notes on his teacher's shirts.

Understand you're saying it's just a feeling, but I've seen nothing to suggest this draft will be a bust. We've so far done the same thing we do every year, which is pick unexpected players we rate.

But even if it is a bust, no great loss. As I said a while back, this draft doesn't feel essential for our list because the bulk of our team-building has already been done.
It was more of a reaction to them being a bit left field, plus both short. But looking at vickerys highlight vid, he's a very nice kick, and has some pace, so think he may be a good pick, although feels like we overpaid... I assume we were searching for a team who were looking to trade up to p27, but couldn't orchestrate a decent deal that wpuld enable us to take vickerys before hawthorn could bid.

No just Blakey, JMac, Florent, Campbell, Stephens and Rankin. Not including Lloyd who only has 3 years left.
