Am I the only one not sold on Brisbane at all? They have some great mature talent (Neale, Zorko, Daniher, Lyons, Cameron etc.) but I don't think any of them are the kind of really elite players you build a flag side around. And I only rate three of their youngsters that highly (Bailey, McCluggage and Starcevich.)

They strike me as a bit of a Freo circa the mid-2010s... thereabouts and cause the good sides headaches but can't see them ever winning a flag with this side.

That I agree with. Freo are on the up IMO. Longmuir seems like a good coach and Peter Bell has done an outstanding job fixing up the culture and admin at that club.

Any club that can afford to give up Lewy Taylor is a true juggernaught.

Honestly I'm not sold on Lion, Power, Cats, and even Bulldogs. I don't remember a club that has won a premiership after being in the top 4 for a year or two (only Hawthorn in 2012-3 have broken this trend).I feel whoever wins next after Melbourne will be another Melbourne/Richmond repeat where all the good players click. Hopefully it's us, but there's whole host of clubs in the middle of the ladder that could just go BANG.

Just watched the highlights of Lions vs Dogs. OMG the Dogs are STILL getting away with dropping, throwing, tripping, you name it. In Q4 Dog drops the ball in the tackle not once but twice and gets paid the free, presumably for in the back coz it sure wasn't high. Shocking.
