If that’s the case afl careers over..sadly I agree
He is an amazing player but the stats aren't good in terms of playing out a season
fingers crossed though

I was telling my mates pretty much the same, he’s in a contract year when (sadly it’s when not if) he burns through 15/16/17 rounds on the sidelines I can’t see anyone taking another punt on himIf that’s the case afl careers over..
From memory, Josh he was the last player we picked up. I remember it being a reluctant recruitment. We only picked him up because he won the Magerey in 1996. A very very good player.Francou is an interesting one. He's undersized and not a lot of form on the books, but his dad wasn't on anyone's radar until Port drafted him in their initial squad at 22 years old after he won the Magarey Medal.
Josh went on to be AA and consecutive top 3 finishes in the Brownlow five years later.
If its a free hit, he's far too talented not to get an opportunity somewhere.I was telling my mates pretty much the same, he’s in a contract year when (sadly it’s when not if) he burns through 15/16/17 rounds on the sidelines I can’t see anyone taking another punt on him

Understated.
He was a star of the comp. His ability to get in and out of traffic was elite.
Orazio could miss every game this season and I reckon they still give him another contract, cause letting him go could attract scrutiny to what was one of the great list management * ups of this administration.
The only way it doesn’t happen is if the list management had their hand forced by others and they gleefully want to shove it back.
In reality what will happen is orazio will get a few games, some might get suckered in to believing, then he will pick up a little niggle with no return date, time will go by and then the season will finish and the club will offer him another deal and the club will largely escape the scrutiny they should have copped for that outrageous trade.

... They picked the best small forward available and recruited him to the club. If he passed the medical test and the docs/fitness staff said they could get him right then it's on them - not our list management team. All very plausible but "one of the great list management * ups of this administration"... hmmm dunno about that. What it does point to is a
recurring theme of the club's best interests and professional accountability being hijacked by a boy's club of vested and self interest.
An arrogance born out of smug comfort in the knowledge we can get away with it. Oh and * the white noise. Like we're the enemy
We've been had boys n girls and the payoff... sfa.
If it wasn't for the knee injuries he'd have been our best ever AFL player, he was that good. Big call but for me we haven't had anyone like him since. Was a great shame injuries got him.Imagine Josh's career without the two major injuries
He was brilliant
Probably the same way geelong players doHow do top tennis players defy age and maintain their primes?
I guess it is a game where nous and touch are more important than the sheer athleticism required. How do top tennis players defy age and maintain their primes?
Novak is the best because:I guess it is a game where nous and touch are more important than the sheer athleticism required.

I agree on the year round training and commitment but you can't just ignore they play a non-contact sport. That's a huge factor. Also if injured, just skip a tournament and don't play for a month. Who gives a shit as long as you're there for the majors. Definitely not Novak. Footy players have to grind it out every week. Apples and oranges.See Travis Boak but to the next level even.
Guys like Nadal and Djokovic are absolute beasts. You can literally see it in their eyes. They're obsessed with being the best. Every day of their life is devoted to it. Training, fitness, rehabilitation. Mind training I'm sure. Professionalism that makes AFL players look like park footballers with their 18 weeks off a year.
Anyone else had their fill of summer sports and champing at the bit for the footy?
