What he's worth is irrelevant. We've publicly stated we're not trading him. Which means if he does get traded it won't be for his worth, it would be overs.

Seems almost common sense that the starting point for Lobb and Logue is a second rounder tbh.
I'd except the second rounder for Logue ASAP before Hunter Clark asks to go there as well.
We can fight for more for Lobb. Pick 29 isn't enough.

With our lack of tall forwards Lobb is worth way more than Pick 29 to us.
Why sell something you need at a low price if you don’t have to?
Lobb and Acres are the players that make us a weaker team if we lose them.

Mate they did this exact same thing last year, running the story that Cerra was not worth a top 10 pick, and Carlton we’re gonna split it into 12 with a 3rd coming back… It’s the same narrative every time, the Vic’s see the little battler over west and drop the value of the player when he’s Melbourne bound. You could guarantee if Lobb was moving west from a big Vic club the headline would read much different!

how long is a piece of string? his value to Freo is worth a lot more than to Dogs which is why a trade probably won't happen.
Maybe that SA player was Brayden Cook who went at 25? We then traded up to get O'Driscoll in front of Poulter, and from memory that trade was with Collingwood. So I am not sure we were big on Poulter. Or we at least rated O'Driscoll much higher.

Yeah you could be right. Brayden cook went at 25 and I think it was Luke pedlar and Tom Powell from SA who went at 11 & 13 respectively before Chappy at 14.. I don’t think many expected Chapman to fall to 14 that draft

Nailed it. Sam Petreski-Seton was pick 6 in 2016.
It SHOULD be irrelevant but the reality is that it’s not. League is littered with players that were traded for overs in their early 20s partly because they were a former top 10 pick.
Mihocek or Liam baker should be worth a first round pick if either was traded as an example, but somehow they aren’t valued as highly as their output deserves because they came off the rookie list. Meanwhile Josh Schache still somehow has draft currency in some eyes despite 7 years of crap performances, because he’s a former no 2 pick don’t ya know…?
Putting Walsh on the market is so stupid. I really don't understand how AFL teams employed him.

If Will Brodie can not get a game for Gold Coast and did what he did.
I fully expect Narkle to rack up 35 touches a game and 2 goals if 12th in line for Cats mids.
A DFA. Brings speed… a classy nickname ‘sparkle Narkle’ plus an inside knowledge of Cats gameplan.
In terms of bang for buck, this seems a no brainer acquisition.
Thoughts?

It would be a strange world for an athlete to be paid in the top % of the competition but simultaneously be worth second rate value in a trade.

If there's a trade happening, I don't see why we can't swap our firsts next year and then swap those picks they have to trade in the second and third round with our own so they can hold them after the trade period.
