My Magician pick is Munkara, just before pick 40…. Sorry Dodo…. And your right not small magician but a mid sized one!

Others in my little bag of goodies are Broadbent for the ruck, Lemmey for the tall forward, and Draper for defender, with Scaife thrown in for Rookie B

Love Munkara but HUGE risk imo. Hopefully we've had plenty of contact and get solid vibes that he'd buy in if selected by us, otherwise I'd leave him to the Bombers.

I think the likes of Lemmey etc have suffered from being unable to go to the gym for long periods during their 16s and 17s - meaning when they came into the U18s they are lacking the strength and size that was projected or expected (he was projected as a top ten pick this time last year) and as a result slide in the rankings.

If we are choosing between Lemmey and Munkara at our first pick, I'd like to pick the tall.

I'd pick who's most likely to be a decent footballer tbh.

We have plenty of tall forwards on the list but the quality is questionable for some of them. Not interested unless we're adding real quality.

Our current set of picks are

30, 43, 44, 67, 76

30 will slide back a few due to father/son picks

43 will probably move forward to 39 and 44 will go to 40. Mmm depends on where the picks come and 43 goes to 40… gee tight for picks.

Brisbane potentially have two father sons.

Then Essendon have the Davey Twins, and GWS have Rowston.

Why

Brisbanes Picks: 34, 35, 36, 38, 55, 73
Essendon Picks: 4, 22, 54, 62, 68, 72
Giants Picks: 1, 15, 18, 19, 31, 57, 61

The three are Draper, Scaife and Williams. Two of these to be picked up.

Chase Bourne left out.

Makes sense for Bourne, would love to see him come back next year and do well but overall a poor year from him

I'd take Scaife and Williams out of those 3 tbh

Interesting with the F4 for 43 trade. Given more time we could have come up with the trade for Sharp. Would we have done it?
The reports are we ran out of time. If there was another hour or two we might have been able to construct a viable trade but would have had to incl. F3 (North) and further incentives.

Personally after time to reflect I’m comfortable where things sit. If we play things well and keep in contact with Sharpe we can go again next trade period with him out of contract. The club has their eye on Wagner it seems to strengthen the Wing/HBF depth (Clarke, Chapman, Wagner - if drafted). You also have Wing HFF types (Henry, Frederick, Johnson). This after considering our frontline wing options in NOD and Aish.

Sharp isnt good enough that anyone would actually give a s**t.
If the statement is true then we move on. Freo tried to get a deal done and made a number of offers. At end of the day Gold Coast demanded too much and we focused on other trades and then ran out of time. Happens all the time. We had a crack at Jordan Clarke end of 2020 but Geelong wouldn’t come to the party. We went again 2021. West Coast missed Tim Kelly etc. Sharpe averages around 9-10 possessions a game and wasn’t really a priority especially when GC were throwing away players and draft picks for nothing and then digging their heals in on an average player like Sharpe. It should be GC he is angry with.

Sharpe should understand that being under contract the trade is never guaranteed.

I’m sure Walls has had good discussions with Sharpe’s management already. If he ends up at WC so be it.

Yeah. No point cutting off his nose to spite his face. He wants to play for Freo and Freo have already said we will revisit it next year. GC tried to pull a swiftly
Walls was asked about the reported run in with the GC list Manager Craig Cameron in the final hours of trade period. He laughed when something was mentioned by the SEN crew. He also said he was disappointed something couldn’t be done but no promises were made and Sharpe’s management were kept up to date during the trade period.

I can imagine the two crossing paths.

Cameron: show me the F2 for Sharpe time is running out
Walls: we’ve discussed this already. We dont have a F2 to trade out and I’m busy now so fek off.

We offered a F3 round for him, they wanted more. They gave away Pick 7 FFS, this is on Gold Coast not us. Could have accepted the F3 and we all walk away.
Yep GC have egg on their faces. I thought Ryan Daniels covered it well in his podcast.

I still can’t believe they dug their heels in and declined the North F3. Whatevs
