If we get one of those picks for Logue we're doing well.

It's slight unders imo. Can't expect much better.
I cant agree we're doing well, future picks are worth less than this years picks. If it had have been even this year after their 2nd I'd at least begrudgingly accept as ok, making it a future 2nd is gross

I just hope the club is taking note at how we are going to get reamed on the Logue and Acres trade.

I think we need a line in the sand for Jackson and say no more than this year's first and a second or third rounder. We need to keep our future first as with all these list changes I could see us moving back.

What about:
Fremantle send Griffin Logue and their 2023 second rounder to North Melbourne, in exchange for North Melbournes 2023 second rounder and North Melbournes 2023 second round priority selection?
I'd put that more in the reasonable category or even slight overs and could include Tucker as part of it (rather than the F3) tbh.

Given the draft next year is meant to be so good, these may be useful to hold onto or good bait to get back into the 1st round this year after the Jackson trade.
The draft year next year is always better, but I do wonder how involved we were in these hand outs. Maybe the consensus in AFL world is that the two drafts are so far apart that future picks are going to be weighted A LOT higher than normal. Maybe we preferred future's over current picks

What annoys me is I truly don't think Logue wants to nominate for the PSD, but if we say no to NM's PPs, it leaves Logue in no mans land...wanting to look after Freo but being told we are unreasonable by not accepting the s**t sandwich on offer.

Unless NM split their first pick (won't happen) we get shafted.
Honestly in that case I think he’d be more likely to turn around and stay at Freo. He’s not a douche.

I think the 2nd round is going to be our drafting sweet spot for a while. We want to draft players with lots of potential, but need a little time to develop. It’s going to be difficult for a draftee to crack the B22 in their first couple of years, so in many ways what we don’t want is players coming in with expectations. We don’t want to be Geelong trading away Clark for more opportunities. I think hoarding second round picks in a good draft year is good for the sustained success model.

Malthouse is a dickhead, and it's really easy for him to say players should only care about premierships when he's a millionaire ten times over from his coaching career.

'The Hawks are looking to increase their ruck division and are in the hunt for Meek, with West Coast also in the race for the Dockers big man.

Melbourne and Greater Western Sydney have also shown interest in the 24-year-old, who is contracted at the Dockers for next year.'

Hello Gunston….

What would someone pay for a young ruck who can't get a game past young top ruck in the comp. Pick 24 seems overs but it comes down to the needs of the clubs.

You don't have many state dominate young Vic rucks who have afl experience, or you go to the draft and wait 2x years plus hoping your pick comes good.

I bet they canvassed all the clubs, but I doubt they gave much weight to what we wanted. They would have listened to what Sydney, Carlton and Collingwood wanted. They could potentially be our rivals over the next period (along with Geelong who always seem to stay up there), and these powerhouse clubs would see we are losing players and don't want us to get anything good for them. Guaranteed if they were losing a player to North on big coin, that the assistance package would have come through much bigger.

It's really the perfect situation for the AFL. They can give out some average picks that won't really upset anyone except a couple of irrelevant clubs like Freo and St Kilda who are left fighting for the scraps over players they might lose.
