I thought Mundy was finished personally.

Give him the ball and he was as good as ever but his defensive game was something that hindered us in many games this season. He was only 5-10% off but it showed at various times. Next year would possibly have been a disaster for Mundy imo.
I agree, but not convinced that Johnson is ready yet to step in.
Would be happy to keep Tucker around next year as an experienced body for one more round before letting him go for that reason.

Nah, cash in now for everybody’s sake. Hughes is basically the same & we have Wilson too. I’d keep Crowden for another year over Tucker if we need cover.

Tucker is the only leverage we have over North for getting Logue for free. It’s almost out of our hands, we have to trade him as a pair.

He knew he was slipping, you could see it was really frustrating him during the Collingwood, Sydney and Melbourne home games.

The dockers need to hit the scoreboard a lot more to get to the top, it's always been our problem. Why aren't we into Gunston, he would be ideal in our forward line with Amiss and Lobb ( should we keep him). We have got the capital ,what's stopping us ,seems like Brisbane are going to get him too, they are really stocking up with good players. He would be a lot better than Corbett.

Erasmus is ready and Fyfe should probably move back into the middle. I think we have cover.

I love the way Treacy goes about it as a competitor and he has potential but as I've said before he's imo only a 50/50 chance to even make it in the AFL.

After a Matt Taberner that can do the job but is injured half the time if he is our only physically ready option as a key forward target we are in trouble next season. Deep trouble.

I mean it's already a big weakness as it is...
Jye Amiss is going to be our best forward since Pav.

Could 2023 potentially be the last year for Michael Walters and Nat Fyfe?

Feel neither of them truly have much left in the tank at this stage.

If he is getting paid big money to play logues role that would be the biggest waste of cash but definitely something that could happen. If we give away 2 first rounders and pay him over say $700k a year to play logues role it just shows we don’t know how to build a team and play them to their role. Would rather see Jackson in the middle along side Darcy. Jackson is no lobb he is more of a ruckman than can rest forward

I was thinking about 2023 when Jackson turns 21, hopefully 24 months from now he's a contested marking beast.

Logue's getting $750,000ish to go to North.

Jackson also goes in to the ruck and rucks much better than Logue.

I think if Hill was going it'd be confirmed already.

Logue isnt going PSD, Young is not a Sith Lord who can mind control his clients

If North won't budge on the F2 selection what do you expect Logue to do? If he's already decided that he's accepting the North $$ he's not going to backflip and sign with us for less money because it's not a great trade.

I just hope the club is taking note at how we are going to get reamed on the Logue and Acres trade.

I think we need a line in the sand for Jackson and say no more than this year's first and a second or third rounder. We need to keep our future first as with all these list changes I could see us moving back.

You're comparing apples with oranges.

The deal for Logue won't be great because they finished 18th and have all the leverage.

Acres will be 27(?) next year and has played 10 consecutive weeks of good footy across his career.

Jackson was a top 3 pick, won the rising star, and is 20 years old. He's worth the equivalent to that early pick. If Serong wanted to go home would you be happy with picks 14 and 32?

Johnson needs a huge summer to play round one 2023. There's plenty of guys ahead of him at this stage.

Does Gunston have a connection to WA? Perth is a much harder sell to a Victorian than Qld. Further away, different time zone, and much more scrutiny. Guys like Hogan and Bennell failed as WA lads partly because they couldn't handle the Perth fish bowl.

Which Melbournians have come here as experienced players on decent money and worked out? Croad? Tarrant? Troy Simmonds?

I don't know we seem to talk ourselves into being reemed. Where a player was picked is irrelevant in what we get for them as we will find out with Logue.

What worries me is the multiple first rounders chat, I'm all for trading in players I just don't think Jackson is a sure thing.

It's crazy to me that players like Taranto are talked about going for less. If serong wanted to go home don't kid yourself we will get the same as GWS are getting or what we got for cerra.

Two first rounders sounds like a lot but it'll be 2 picks in the teens so in terms of points it's like trading pick 4 which looks fair.

Jackson is seen as the big fish this trade period, more so than Taranto, Dunkley or Grundy.

There’s a bloke with two Brownlow medals that was injured most of the year but is about to have a full pre season.

He’s not the same player as Mundy but he’s equally as good.

Johnson should be ready to play a few games next year but doesn’t need to be the main man yet.

Tbf I feel a lot of the huge summer is just Johnson's body developing. Could happen this summer might take another year. Once he does and his contested work takes a step up, watch out he will be an incredible player.

I wonder whether he’s grown since his draft. 192cm when drafted, but he always looks like a CHF when I watch Peel. He could be Patrick Cripps with a kick.

Looking at Sydney and Geelong forward line, the depth of good players shows how far we have to go.

Cameron
Hawkins
Stengle
Rohan
Duncan and close a high half forwards

And

Franklin
Reid
Pappely
Heeney
McDonald

Our forwards next year are

Tabs if not injured
Amiss still very green
Walters getting slower
Switta gun, but is a high half forward
Schultz solid b grader
Fyfe should play midfield

In reality we need at least 3 probably 4 more forwards A or B grader forwards before we can push for a flag, and 2more a graders.

In 2 years we will have Switta, Amiss and Schultz and nothing else.

I'm sure it has been mentioned before but if Meek does go to Hawthorn are we getting Jai Serong as part of the trade?

I think Tyler Brockman is more likely tbh.

10 goals in 11 games in his first year as a small forward, missed all this season because of injury. From WA originally. Not bad for a first year player but the injuries are a concern.

For me it’s a pick in the 40s plus a sweetener as Hawthorn don’t have a pick in the 30s.
