Lobb and English rotating ruck/forward. Means they can play Darcy, Naughton
down back. JUH then gets the mis-match.
That’s a spine of players with envious skills.
They are set for a sustained finals bracket, and can concentrate on drafting
or trading for needs.
It improves their list from the elimination final, something we are yet to see at
Freo.

That scenario no love for Schache.

Or Josh Bruce

Whilst they also lose Dunkley

The reality is that talls are always in high demand, take years to develop.
You can build a team around the spine.
Midfielders can have an instant output, always plenty available to draft or trade.
There is no way there is a premium that significant between the two just because Jackson is tall. Taranto is actually good and demonstrated he was worth his original selection.

12 vs 3 + 20 is basically saying Jackson is worth 2 to 3 times more than TT which is just dumb.

Bruce could be similar to Logue, great depth, swingman role but at his age
doesn’t demand a long contract.
Schache you’d think would see the writing on the wall.
Dunkley linked to Lions, who get the no1 pick too F/S. Bulldogs get a first
rounder.

WB first rounder for Lobb plus our F2
WB first rounder plus Freo first rounder to Melb for Jackson and Melb F2 back
Protect future picks. Use Acres pick and what is left for this year

I'd like to get our hands on North Melbourne's future first. Rumours swirling of North being given pick #11 and #19 this year as compensation picks.

Perhaps something like our future third round pick, Tucker and Logue for pick #11
I'll be interested in the final package given to North Melbourne.

I've seen rumours they also asked for the following:
  • Access to mature aged players
  • Access to Tasmanian players and the ability to add them to the list without using a pick.
  • Extra rookie list spots.

The end of first round pick sounds like a given.

More they get the better for us if Logue leaves.

What the ford truck! That is nonsense. So they can strip-mine all of Tassie for free? I hope the AFL says no. There has to be restrictions there.
Only way that would be fair is if they’ve already agreed to move to Tasmania and be the Tasmanian Kangaroos. You’d think that the rest of the clubs will put in a veto to that one.

I'm in a bit of mourning here.
I recall last year's Members Meeting when only Lobb stood out as a would-be defector and optimism ran high about our strong-knit team overall. Then at the Members Forum in July Garlick, Bell et al exuded united forward momentum about our players, club and prospects. It felt good.
Now so many potential departures.
Remind myself that "the only constant is change" but it's no consolation at the moment.

I think the reason it's taking so long to announce it is because it's linked to the players coming to North.

If Freo have any doubts over their wing stocks they should consider Tom Phillips.

The recent statement that we will retain the players we want will be interesting to look back on.

11 and 19? **** that.
AFL Looking after Clarko and a VIC team. Doubt we would get any help if we were in that situation

Acres wasn't exactly a surgeon. 100 gamer. Good tank. I feel our other options are possibly a bit young or require a bit more time for one reason or another.
Phillips been ditched from 2 clubs now, name the Hawks wingers he wasn't getting a game ahead of?

I wouldn't go near him personally, rather get the time into Henry and Johnson or possibly sharp

Schache is a hack. They'd have no issues leaving him out.

Bruce not so much but they may see the need to move on given his age and recent injury history.

Schache and Bruce are done. Their set up is Naughton, Darcy, English, Lobb, JUH.

I wouldn’t put it past Bevridge to switch the magnets literally every quarter.

Tom Phillips is a great case study for why we should be happy Freo sticks to its guns and refuses to overpay for guys like Acres and Logue.

Played wing at Collingwood and made a sold start to his career.

Built up some momentum: 6th in B&F in 2018; 7th in B&F in 2019; played in the 18 GF.

Even made the 22under22 team (for what that is worth).

So contract time comes around and he earns a big fat deal, over 500k a year. He's Best 22! We can't go deep without experience and he played an important role in our GF team! Gut runner-- you need them in September!

But even though he was B22, he was just another solid footballer playing a role. Not worth an above average salary.

Nek minnut Daicos shows he's better on the wing, Phillips gets pushed out and Collingwood are paying 500k for a so-so small forward.

The salary cap squeeze is on (because of overspending on guys like Phillips) and he gets salary dumped to the Hawks for a 4th rounder. An easy way to make some much needed space.

2 years later he's delisted by the Hawks.

We don't want to overpay "solid" footballers who are B22 today but likely to be superseded by new talent

11 and 19? * that.

Exactly. How does that campaigner Clarkson have so much influence over the AFL? Should north receive such concessions, it further shows how ridiculous the situation between the AFL and Clarkson has become.

Perfect comparison

I hope Griff Logue is reading this, gets off his high horse and takes our fair offer
