I can categorically tell you we will keep him if we have to. And that as of last week that is a real option.
The comment Daniels used at this point… so till dogs come up with a trade freo like then yes he will be staying. But if I was a betting man I’d put money on him being at dogs this year.

If Dunkley picks Brisbane, is pick 15 enough to get Lobb done? I think it’s overs but that’s what it would take then freo would have 13 & 15 to get Jackson

I always need to remind myself to stay off opposition boards during trade time, it's too triggering. Dogs fans have way too much faith in Sam Power

One month to go until we know the result of trade period

I’m guessing Bailey Smith got a decent haircut today in preparation for his new mate Lobb

Yet they are claiming it's not an option - what else can they offer?

Because they don’t want to have to part with it, kind of weakens your bargaining hand if you seek pre approval

There are no grounds for approval. Rules are rules, they aren't allowed to trade it as it stands. What grounds are there?

From back when Geelong were weighing it up:

“They also can't trade their top 2020 choice in this year's NAB AFL Trade Period, because they used just one first-round selection in the past four drafts from 2015 to 2018.

The exception to that is where a club has applied for and received special permission, with the AFL weighing up the age of the players brought in and other draft picks used in that time.”

I know right? I've never even heard of this Power campaigner before Dogs fans starting banging on about him in the Lobb thread.

Like, who do these guys think they're dealing with here? Peter Bell ain't no chump. He's gonna be smoking on that Sam Power pack by the end of the trade period, guaranteed.

Peter Bell is a lawyer...that's all you need to know.

I'd be more worried if Bell was negotiating with Max

A question for Taylor, there’s talk of Bellie being poached by North Melbourne, does his position (ie salary) fall under the soft cap?

Don’t rate him?
More so he hasn't had the opportunity to shine this year, was pretty average early in the season and then got injured. Finals will be good for him but in reality he's had one great game post injury and a bunch of average-below average games before that

That won’t happen. Some
People mature between the ears late. He’s clearly a late bloomer in terms of work ethic. I don’t expect he’ll regress, if anything he’ll progress. His finals form and early season form have been elite. We blame his poor inside 50s on him, when our forwards are shithouse winning one on ones. Same thing use to happen with Langdon. Then suddenly he’s a gun T Melbourne. Very annoying.
Once he has a three year deal with guaranteed money his first year will be absolute dogshit.

For most of those his time here he has been delist material, scared of his own shadow.

It is interesting with Acres that the contract we offered was apparently more incentive based i.e. keep up your good form and you'll be appropriately rewarded versus Carlton's which is (again apparently) guaranteed $

Don't blame him for choosing the path of least resistance but maybe it's not a coincidence his career best year occurred when he was facing his football mortality. Even then, it's not like he was flawless.

It's feeling very Jesse Hogan. Are Melbourne destined to screw us forever? lest we forget Colin Sylvia
Totally different re Hogan. The Dees wanted to get rid of Hogan (once they worked out they could get May). They were pissed when they thought we would walk away, they wouldn't get the pick for May, and they were going to be stuck with Hogan.

I reckon the Dees would be happy if Jackson changed his mind.
