Didn't plan on watching this morning but needed a piss around 2:05 so ended up watching it all.

We were dominated in the first 20 to 30 minutes but hung on.

We had moments where we were the better side, but overall it was not that impressive a performance.

The best thing though is we defended well, and we were prepared to take the ball deep forward often (unlike second half v France). Whilst the quality may not have been there on most of those thrusts, it meant the Danes had to defend and respect us somewhat. They couldn't just have it all on their terms

Class will be our eventual undoing, but I think our approach in games is improving.

We could be the worst team in the history of the World Cup to make the round of 16 haha.

Im here for it.

Far from it Jodly.

We've done pretty well for a team with 20 out of the 26 man squad being A-League products.

Pretty clear the A-League isn't trash after all as some posters have suggested.

Can’t believe I’m doing this but well done to Arnold and his team.

assuming the permutations work out, a France/Germany semi final is possible, right alongside an Argentina/Brazil semi. What are the odds that yields yet another Germany/Argentina final? Of course, everyone has to get there first.

What were you reasonably expecting?

We were up against a Top 10 side with very limited resources at our disposal.

This was a textbook smash-and-grab win, where the superior side on paper dominates possession, only to have to chase the game after getting sucker-punched by a quick counter-attack.

Many such sides eventually recover, as FRA quickly did due to their skill across the pitch, but DEN didn't because they relied too much on Christian Eriken's creativity.

Oh don't get me wrong I don't have unreasonable expectations. The best I could expect was to scrap a win, and that we did.

I liked that we weren't too defensive I thought that was bad against France, even if we were massively outclassed

What is this curse? I hear it bought up a bit.
Its a sorta running joke, basically Ozil was made a massive scapgoat for Germany shitting the bed in the 2018 WC. He wasn't the only player who under performed, but he was dropped for games they still lost. But the German media went hard at him for that and as a result he retired from international football.
Since then, its basically "Germany have been totally shit in the Euros and WC since they forced Ozil out". Hence the Ozil curse.

Really amazing to think come kick off against Argentina, that we will be one of only 15 nations that can win the World Cup. Simply a remarkable achievement, even if it were to end there. But long may the run continue!
