Only in the midfield it seems.So there is enough rookies now?
I've decided I'm going to take all the cheapies, wherever they appear. If that means running Rowell at M3 and Hewett at D6, then so be it, I'll do it.
Might get enough cheapos up forward as well

Worst part is the expensive mid rookies all look really good, I don't wanna cut em.
It's the backline that's hamstrung us again.

Cogs at F4

[then pick 2 of]
Baldwin/Martin/JHayes/Dixon
The issue is captaincy options. Will Macrae, Neale, Gawn, Grundy and Dunks provide enough?
With Hinge, McCartin and De Koning at least in def, do you really need to go as extreme at Hewett D6?

I have Hewett at D5 before the tinkering.
McCartin/SDK are locked in.
Hinge I don't like at his price.
I also don't want McCartin on my bench at his price, I'm trying to avoid the pricey boys on the bench.

I started with Short at D5 last year.
Issue is you don't have room for any bolters.
I wasn't able to get on Rids early, and missed Mills altogether.
Have you considered only got 5 deep in the backline and running a loop at D8 for captaincy and rookie roulette?
Captaincy should be fine.
Just go Macrae.
He's the best.
I'm either gonna go a loop like Worner at D8, or Charlie Dean on the supposition that he comes in as soon as he can.
SDK at D7.
McCartin at D6.
Hinge at D5. (Looks value to me).
Hewett at D4

McCartin should be a lock even if on the bench with DPP he will be invaluable during the year.

2 premo mids offers crazy options.
I tried it a month or so ago.
Best I could get was 15 premos + cogs ie a full team apart from mids.
I didn't realise it was that long.
I guess he's not a great loop due to a lack of Sunday games.
Worner it is then I guess
Worner or Hollands for me I think.

Yeah I've been rolling with Hewett at D5 for a couple of days now. I too started with Short at D5 last season. Yeah good point about missing the bolters.
A donut at D8 could be good, it allows me to loop McCartin and SDK at D6

Is Worner the play instead of Uwland?
I haven't paid attention to it as I was planning on starting 30 green dots for a change
Worner has 4 sundays and a saturday night first 5 games.
Hawks have a similar draw.
But we have no 102k d/m from the hawks.
I dunno much about Uwland, but I'm a Worner fan because Freo's early games are second only to Hawthorn's for your looping needs, and I want my loop at D8, not M11 or F8, plus having Worner at D8 will allow Daicos to be immediately swung into defence after round 6, plus Worner is mature age at 19 and a winger, if COVID catches hold of Freo as I predict it will at some stage, he'll get games and go well I reckon

Take Uwland, he has DPP and the Suns will have a lot of late games. Mixs well with Crisp/Sinn/Whit/Hewett, and a small chance of games later in the year.
Or Hollands as a m/f if you want the best chance of someone playing games soonish (no promises though).

Worner has DEF/MID DPP as well. Any reason Uwland over him?
A reliable source told me to keep an eye on Worner for games later in the year.
