I read somewhere that Marchy was touted as playing on the wing,
One of Calebs many strengths is roaming the ground covering distance, could be a real weapon.

I'm pretty amazed by his output at *.

I always thought he was a spud of such giant proportions that he could have prevented the entire Irish potato famine....
Hasn't kicked a goal in 2 matches. 2 goals a game as the maim target isn't anything to write home about. He's good. Not great.

I love Marchy, but his kicking can be VERY hit and miss...
This is one of my prevailing memories of him too. Hopefully it's been sorted to a degree.

I remembered he was a good mark but that video showed me how many were back with the flight. Didn't cop many big hits but wasn't frightened at all. I hope he hasn't lost that because of all his injuries.

His kicking was hit and miss true, but a big part of that will be resolved by gameplan.

We only really need him to take 3 types of disposal:
1) Switch kick - there's room for error here anyway
2) Pump it long down the line
3) Hand it off to a streaming runner

It's the 4th type that gets him in trouble when he tries to bring it back to centre corridor and misses his man.

Harry McKay will play against Essendon.
I was just going to post a theory on this. Been getting a strong feeling he was in the frame to play based on 1) rumours 2) unusual quiet from the club 3) let's be real, we really bloody need him back.

Hope your post is based more on fact and less (like mine) on feeling. Also hope he is good for 3-4 team lifting goals vs hated enemy on Friday night.

Sure making him kick safer alleviates the penalty somewhat but he still shanked them from time to time. Wasn't as simple as missing a target, it was off the side of the foot type shanks.

system is now better than it's been since the late 90s - players know to kick to a location not a man, trusting a teammate to be there, part of the reason we've been able to succeed despite the huge injury list.

Yes Marchy :blueheart:

Welcome back

Judging by what Weitering said on SEN about Young having to be our key defender for the next few weeks, I doubt Durdin plays this week, time will tell.

He also said he’s penciling in WCE for his return, depends how the body is feeling, could be an earlier return to.
Have my hopes up for an early return. He is normally a pretty durable player so might have some Walsh like recovery skills.

Based on the post in the injury thread about H playing this week - Is this believable?

Can that injury heal in the short time he has been out?
The guy has no track record so I'd take it with a grain of salt. Who knows he could've just read the twitter rumours and posted it as fact, Faucon-styles.

My understanding of a lateral meniscus surgery is that the recovery time is generally 6 weeks, but - he appears to be WELL ahead of schedule. To be in full training kit running around and jumping suggests to me that he has had a very good recovery. He'd be an absolute outlier from my understanding but not so much so that it becomes implausible.

Fingers crossed for Marchy - could he be our David Astbury?

Astbury - 41 games in first 6 seasons. Finished as a 3x premiership player.
Marchbank - 48 games in first 7 seasons. Finished as ________________?
