Unless they’re dropping one of Cerra, Kennedy, Pitto or Martin, then they’re not replacing Gov and going in with a shorter backline.

I don’t mind it.

Or they put JSOS on Gunston and go shorter up forward with Martin as the lead up.

Far out Mitch McGovern injured as well… Didn’t take long 🙄

Unfortunately this feels like it’s going to be the theme of Govs time at the Blues. Physically, he’s not dependable. Was looking promising as well.

Weitering, Young and Plowman/Parks looks like they’ll be taking the big blokes, with Williams, Saad and Docherty on the smaller types.

Not phased 1-on-1 provided the system works and the midfield doesn’t allow any easy ball in.

Someone needs to be the 3rd tall down back in case things get out of hand with Gunston, McEvoy and Lewis. Probably JSOS is the best fit, if Plowman/Parks aren't selected.

My preference would be Plowman, purely from an experience/dependability point of view.

It'll be a greasy field come 1:10pm, not the worst week to have a smaller backline but rough to have both gov and omac injured

It's been 5 years since Hawthorn has won a flag... have they folded yet?

If there has ever been a fickle supporter base, they are it!

So many 80s babies who felt it was Cool and they were winning.

Then because they didn't win anything for 5 years, they nearly folded.

Then back up to record membership because they were on top again.

Then 10K turn up to their games when they're not on top of the ladder.

I will give credit to the actual club for being so successful so often... but in term of their supporters, my common response to them has always been "who's your captain?... OK shut up now"

I saw it last week when a Hawthorn supporter was saying elsewhere on BF that they will easily beat Carlton. I responded saying that the way that Carlton will beat Hawthorn is by losing all the major statistical categories. He responded that that’s impossible and I just had a “mare”. It was at that point that I read his posts closely and realised that he is pretty open about not bothering to watch Hawthorn play. So of course he didn’t get my reference that Hawthorn lost all the major statistical categories and still beat Port (precisely what I was saying Carlton should do). 😂

Next time I pick out my opposition banter mate, I should make sure that they actually watch AFL. 😂

Interesting bench. Both Obrien and Setterfield named on field so neither will be dropped.

Feel like Martin will be sub as cant see Kennedy, Cerra, Pittonet not playing. Then we will need one of Parks or Plowman to replace McGovern. Unless Setterfield rotates as the 7th Defender?
Hopefully this is the case … JSOS can help out down back if required … I don’t think Parks or Plowman offer any value add at this stage …

Mitch out for 3-4 weeks :(

we have hawks this week with a solid fwd line, gold coast with no king, port with no dixon and freo with??????? I don't even know what they have. If there was ever a time for our defence to be tested you'd almost argue the next 3-4 games don't pose the most potent threats in terms of forward lines. Not taking any opposition fwd line lightly, but good time to see how Young and Parksy (if required) measure up. Not ideal but next man up

Maybe the time has come to send Jack Silvagni to the backline
