I wonder if it's because our other targets are now unlikely? I can't see us fitting Buddy in plus potentially two others.

Probably doesn’t help that Fogarty has decided to be good again so the crows are happy to keep him all of a sudden lol

Yeah not sure about this one.

Sure it’d be great as a novelty and will boost attendances / merchandise for a year but I’d rather a hard working mid on half the coin.

We keep buddy for MAX 2 years, the hardworking mid coming out way is Ashcroft - and he’ll be on a standard draft contract initially anyway.

In terms of needs it’s probably last on our list.

But IF Buddy Frankin asks to join your organisation, most would say yes.

He is reported to be feeling fresh and feels he could play another 2-3 years.

Money wise, he would just get McStays wage and a bit more, so don’t think it breaks the bank.

Ruck situation remains an issue. Joe would have to Ruck which I don’t love but maybe a bit of responsibility will suite Joey.

We saw what he did to us at the SCG in that 1/4 of football, completely unstoppable.

It’s probably not sensible but gee it would be exciting and entertaining… and what are we here for?

I could believe it RE playing 2-3 more years, he’s looked GREAT this year. And no reason we can’t manage him like the swans have done and chuck in Fort every few rounds.

I thought Joe rucked well last year, and he seemed to enjoy doing it.

No offence to buddy but by next year we'll have most probably zorko, lyons, deven (trade request), tom berry (trade request), matho, CEY, robinson and ely smith most probably leaving. That's a massive chunk of our midfield we need to recruit midfielders not another kpf even if we retain matho, berry and dev we still need to recruit another 4 mids as depth.

Where are Lyons (contracted), Zorko (will get another year), Dev (said to be happy for now)… going?

Agree though, midfield is an issue.

Our offence is the best in the league, our defense well, it’s the other end. We need, we need another KPF!

I’ll believe it when I see it. Seriously baffling.
Did nobody tell you, Buddy would be playing Full-Back for us in the future, so that the coach can finally allow Andrews to play at his Full Forward position that the coach loves so much instead :p

The big Bud using Brisbane to get the Swans to sign up. Onya Bud.
Not sure if I am that cynical.

The talk on SEN a couple of weeks ago was that Buddy was "insulted" by what the Swans were offering and there was an impasse of sorts between he and the club

He's a proud man and I don't necessarily believe we are being leveraged. An extra 100K or even 50k is probably more about this self esteem than about the money itself.

Griffin Logue and Jacob Hopper please.

Do I think Buddy is better than McStay - well duh.
Do I think Buddy is all we need - hell no.
Would I like to have Buddy (for a reasonable wage and contact length) as a bonus on top of fixing our midfield mix - yeah that works for me.

Do I think any of it will make any difference if we don't get our heads screwed on right and realise that glass cannons are by definition fragile and toughen up and make defence/pressure our primary non-negotiable for every player on the field - also hell no.
