What makes you say this?
From what I've seen of him, which is admittedly limited, he seems more athlete than footballer and disposal by foot is poor.

I don't think he's a terrible option but we seem to expect a lot from players brought in from other clubs and can see him not living up to expectations.

You'd have to think the way we've managed him this year he's not in the A Team.

Lyons has been struggling most of the year and we've brought Matho in who with the great respect I have for him isn't any topliner.

So at this point Dev isn't considered up to it.

No offence to buddy but by next year we'll have most probably zorko, lyons, deven (trade request), tom berry (trade request), matho, CEY, robinson and ely smith most probably leaving. That's a massive chunk of our midfield we need to recruit midfielders not another kpf even if we retain matho, berry and dev we still need to recruit another 4 mids as depth.
It would be nice to get a local or 2 like Arnold, Triffett, Breville or Abbleby .

All the mainstream media outlets are running the story now but they are all using the initial channel 9 report as their source.

Very possible the whole thing is a beat up, maybe engineered by Buddy’s management.

While I don’t know if Dev/Terry will leave, we do have people coming in. Ashcroft/Fletcher, + Ashcroft the younger remember. Matho won’t leave either, he’s a massive clubman and I wouldn’t be surprised if all he wanted was recognition for his efforts in the magoos (which he now has). Plus Prior obviously, The likes of Sharp and Tunstill have shown they have promise. We’ve also got Blake Coleman, who by all accounts I’d as good as kiddy, so if that eventuates could always move starce to the middle and have two Coleman’s down back.

Plenty of options and talent coming through mate
Sharp, tunstill and fletcher are wingers we need inside mids to replace the outgoings. Lyons, Zorko and Robinson have at most one year left but I think they're toasted and all should retire this year and we can't rely on a teenage ashcroft next year to play as a full time mid that's just unfair on the kid we need at least another 2 big bodied mids to be competitive next year or we're gonna be in this exact same situation again next year.

Maybe we can draft Cam Ellis-Yolmen back to the club again, he wasn’t that bad - was he  :p

I think this does the rounds before a 2 year Swans extension quietly drops around finals time.

Tunstill is an inside mid.

Tunstill is an inside mid.

He is, but he's shown plenty to suggest he could be able to play wing one day. Inside will likely be his best spot, but these days it's a recipe for disaster to only be able to play one role.

kane cornes has declared buddy is not in the best 200 players in the comp anymore. do we really want somebody like this at our fine establishment? /s

i hope dev not being named this week on extended bench isnt a sign hes requesting a trade home
Kane Cornes is a clueless goose who says shit to start controversy.

So I should hold off changing my username to Ashcroft2buddy?

I think Dev's gone, unfortunately.
wasn't given the appropriate opportunity to grow into his role. Always felt his natural strengths required a bigger body to compete at AFL level. He will be a decent player in 2 years once he's filled out to an ideal weight. Probably a Jack Redden level of player. Shame.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Buddy, Daniher and Hipwood are all left footers.

At least Buddy can kick them from the left wing.
he kicked a goal on his right I think last weekend :)

Honestly a forward line of Buddy, Joe, Charlie and Hipwood.. Add in Linc, Rayner, Bailey and Lohmann would be hard to beat.
Unless we get smashed out of the middle and it never get down there..
Be nice to get another mature mid. Do not want everyone to expect Ashcroft to be A grader straight away.

It was such an aggressively worded story too, it wasn’t like a “we’ve heard rumblings this might happen”, his wording was “I can confirm that Brisbane are the frontrunners now”
