The Brisbane Lions confirm Thomas Berry has informed the Club he wishes to join the Gold Coast Suns.
Really classy comments attributed to Danny Daly and Tommy🥲

West coast have pick 20 that would be fair for Robertson . Glass is his uncle so could see them paying that price which I think is fair . Thoughts ?

Let me preface this by saying I love Dev, hope he's here next year, continues to develop & is playing regularly in our starting 22.

However if he does get traded & we are the ones instigating this move, ain't no way in the world we're getting pick 20.

On Madden, he's spent four years on the rookie list so we're either going to have to elevate him or delist and re-rookie him right? Can be come back as a category B rookie? dlanod
Correct on the elevate or delist. I think he needs special exemption to be back on Cat B.

you can completely understand the move. From a trade perspective I wonder if this helps a little in the Bowes conversation assuming we are in it

Can't hurt. But pretty much just comes down to which club Bowes chooses. Gold Coast then tries to work out a deal, but if they can't, Bowes remains a Sun.

So in this scenario, Jack Bowes is Lisa and the Brisbane Lions are Ralph Wiggum.

Dev is a gun in the making and happy to stay here, we would be crazy to instigate a trade for a lousy draft pick
It might be difficult to bring in Gunston , Dunkley and potentially Bowes without Dizz and/or Dev departing . Can't see anyone else who could be looking around.

The best thing about Dev is he's competitive and a smart player. Not sure he'll be any gun but he needs a run of games so he can adjust to what's required and we get a better look at him.

Based on what Brisbane traded to land Lachie Neale in the 2018 trade period (2 x 1st rounders 6 & 19), a similar return for to the Bulldogs for Dunkley isnt unreasonable as their careers were very similar at the time of trade.

Lachie was contracted.

People need to get their heads around being contracted vs not contracted.

I think 20 for Dev is overs. If you consider Lipinski went for 42 I think?

If he wants to stay, which I believe is the case, then I’d keep him.

If he starts to look around or is open to a trade, pick 20 would be a great return.

100% with you Bungalow.

Geez.. anyone doubting Dev go watch a replay of the Prelim.

When we were getting badly beaten, Dev one of the few to still really crack in.

He had 17 touches plus game high 10 tackles. One of our best.

Really stiff to spend a large part of the year in the 2s, regularly in the best couple in the 2s, and had a really good finals series.

He is only 21.

Must now be played consistently in seniors. In front of Answerth, Lyons, Zorko and others.

Not sure I've seen anyone doubt Dev. He's a bit of a favorite for a lot of us really.

Eh, Dev is pretty overrated on here. He's alright though.
Sounds a tad harsh, but if it were the choice between Dev and Bowes (for instance) I'd be going for Bowes.

The more I think about it, the less I want anything to do with this Bowes trade. With Dunkley coming along with Fletcher and Ashcroft, we will be too top heavy for midfielders. Especially if it resulted in us losing Robertson, who I rate more highly than Bowes. Even with smoothing the money out, I think it can be better spent elsewhere.

I think Bowes is better than dev, but he is older and on way more $.

I don't want to get anyone's nose out of joint but Dev doesn't strike me as a player with much of a high ceiling.

He's a bit of a workhorse who also plays smart but I don't see him in your top 3 m/fers for instance.

I'm happy to keep him and play him but I don't think he's any star.

Dev is a workhorse. He can play a bit ugly at times, but so did Lingy, Brett Kirk, and Liam Picken.

This year out midfield sucked. Fix that and add Gunston and we jump a level.

But must keep Dev. Hoping Tim going takes Dev off the trade table.
