Nah, the AFL would step in - they don’t want a ‘restraint of trade’ course case that would undermine the whole AFL trade/draft model…

RESTRAINT OF TRADE is a bulletproof argument to get a gun player for free. I see you are cultured.

According to Cal Twomey, in the "mega super trade" (trademarked by Tom Browne) we would have sent 36 and got back 40 and 43, 40 probably going to Hawthorn for Gunston.

How do they think we will get 29 given Carlton currently have it?

Assume they mean 39? 39 and cats future second is basically a wash from a pick value perspective, and I’d far rather hold onto a second F2 that we can live trade on draft night. We’ve got too many points as is.

No issue from me with 21 and F1 straight up assuming the points maths is ok (haven’t bothered to do it on a few days).

Yeah it's the list spots vs live picks thing that I am thinking about, but I am sure there is a plan.

I have two questions for the draft experts . The first is do you have to the same number of players as draft picks? As an example let’s say you swap a higher draft pick for two or three lower draft picks to accumulate extra points for an academy player or father son pick but you don’t have the same number of players off you primary list. Can you do this? The way I see it we have more picks than players off our list . Lower draft picks are easy to accumulate but harder to swap. I just would like an explanation of how it works. The next question is let’s say we get Dunkley but as a result do not have enough points to get both Ashcroft and Fletcher. Do points come off our 2023 draft automatically to allow us to pick up Fletcher anyway? If someone in the know can explain the machinations of the draft process it would be appreciated

Ain't no draft experts here, lololol.

Absolutely NOT!!!!

Agree. We're just making our finals competitors better if we take that deal. Tired of being tickled on the belly.

We'd be better off taking a stand & sending those draft picks to the PSD so North can use them.

Other teams will know in the future that we can't be messed with.

We make our like bandits in that trade. I’m sure the Dogs are melting on their board.
Yes bandits is correct so that trade won't happen
That values Dunkley at 895 points (variable as futures are involved) or pick 20
Assuming they ment pick 39 coming back instead of 29 that lifts his value to pick 15

Excuse my ignorance, but I thought players can nominate terms for the PSD? If so how does this fantasy exist that the Bulldogs can take him on a one year contract if he enters the PSD?

They're probably assuming that they'd accept his six year terms thinking he'd be asking for a trade at the end of 2023.

Just a guess.
