I understand he retired...but was that as a result of us telling him we wouldn't keep him on our list? If he just retired off his own bat, why wouldn't he have considered coming back to us?
I assume he was told that if he wasn't going to meet the mandate then he would have to retire, as we weren't going to move him to the inactive list and wait it out. I can't imagine that it went down well with either side really, hence the bridge being burned.

Congrats on the acquisition of Acres lads, a steal for you lot, don’t know wtf we are doing to let him go for a future third.

Good side of him: He has a big tank now and provides a lot of run up and down the wing and is a good marking option down the line.

Bad side of him: Not a lot of toughness about him and doesn’t know how kick anything but long bombs inside 50 which probably won’t hurt you as much as you have McKay and Curnow down there instead of Lobb lol
Bad side of him: Not a lot of toughness

Plan already in motion to have him partner up with LOB in pre season to be mentored in the finer arts of hard at it contested football.

Don’t think so.

Eagles want to turn pick 2 into multiple first round picks cause there are a few WA boys they want that would be a stretch at 2 but will go in the top 15 (bad for our chances at Hewett)

North want the world and some for JHF.

Yeah definitely not the best year for WC to have a top two selection when considering the WA talent available.

Cheers for the updates.

You couldn't blame North really, 2 firsts and a second would be minimum I would accept for last years best junior.
A gun in the making, the kid can play, I rekon he will be Riccuto level by the end of his career.
How would you rate his value, and the right price of trade?

And that’s probably it. Dow gets traded for peanuts is all I can see happening in the next week.

Otherwise we go to the draft with three picks.

OK with Acres for the price. Doesn't have a lot of hurt going inside 50, but we can use a mature two way runner.

This is the conundrum that a lot of our fans need to get their head around.

You want a big body who competes hard and can run all day? Then odds are he's not an elite kick.

You want an elite kick that can run all day? Then odds are he's lightly framed and easily outbodied.

You want a big body who competes hard, runs all day and never misses a target? Then odds are you're giving up a top 5 pick as a starting point and paying him $800k or more a season.

We've got options now with Acres, LOB and Cottrell, and none of them are getting paid more than the AFL average.

Good result for Jones, but can't see us taking 49 to the draft. Think it will get packaged up
I hope so. Even though it’s good value for a guy who didn’t play for us last year, it’s not much use in this shallow draft. Another pick under 30 would be handy.

Not sure about that one for Fremantle.

Ive seen a few people on Facebook commenting that Freo have been stitched up here, they have done pretty well, Logie and Tucker both chose the team that finished last, one Of them could have gone for free to the PSD, so it’s a pretty good deal each way.
