I’d only do it on draft night for Sheezel.

This draft is very interesting, as in very even

Guys like Hotton, Burgiel could have similar output at the next level

Jefferson has more upside/growth than a Cadman to match future output

None of the highly ranked mids have high scoreboard impact

I wouldn't overreach in this draft

Agree Jefferson looks to have significant upside once he gets some more size in the next two years for AFL Level.
I would not be surprised to see Cadman go top 3, can see a team rebuilding such as North Melbourne or GWS will go in that direction as a key pillar of their rebuild.

Tbh Sheezel is the only player who would excite me, largely because he fits a need perfectly with the bonus of most likely being able to fill it next season.
The rest seem like guys I would like but also have question marks over, especially with how they fit into our side.

For me losing 1 draft pick which I would hope to be in the teens is worth the risk. I guess it all comes down to how we rate the kids though

Most of the teams who finished above us last year are adding star power and improving their lists. Geelong looking like adding Bowes, Henry and Pick 7. Brisbane Ashcroft and Dunkley. Richmond Taranto and Hopper. Collingwood Hill and McStay plus a couple. I like Blake Acres but it feels like if that's all we do we are going backwards relatively. I would hope we left some flexibility in H's 7 year deal to back end it a bit. If so we can't be too far off a Bowes discussion especially if Dow and/or Setters move on. I will puke if Geelong, Hawthorn or even Essendon get a massive benefit from Suns ineptitude when it seems we were not too far off.

I'm also worried about the same thing. Thankfully i have Freo and Dogs going backwards after trade period and Dees and Swans staying the same. I'm really hoping our injury improvement gives us a similar uplift to some of the player movement you mentioned in addition to Acres.

Let's not go overboard.

Bowes is shit. Henry has zero defensive interest.

Mcstay and Hill are terrible and they get even older.

Richmond will just improve overall. 1 very good addition and 1 decent addition. Few guys aging pretty significantly there.

Lions improve midfield but one tall injury away from fighting for 6th.

We underachieved dramatically this year and have the youngest team that's challenging by some way. Natural improvement in performance and consistency should have us challenge for a top 6 position

Star power? Are you talking about our current list which includes Cripps, Walsh, Harry, Charlie, Weitering?

The state of our list is in a great place. What we need right now is development of team synergy, game plan, consistency, which is what Voss and the assistants will be working on.

The key word was adding. Pick 7 would likely get us one of Phillipou, Clarke or Busslinger. A fit Jack Bowes is best 22 for us.

Just confirming your thought process is that Phillipou, Clarke, Busslinger, Ashcroft, Henry, Hill, Bowes, McStay, Dunkley, Taranto & Hopper are star power?

Hard to know what's going on with their exodus.

Are they younger than our 22? Wouldn't have thought so but could be wrong
I don't know what the average age of every list is as a whole but I thought I saw an article which had us second youngest to Freo with regards to age and experience and it wasn't really a close second, either. The inference I got was that their youth was having more of an impact than ours.

Its a fair point but if we get a decent or normal run with injury then we will have a few 'recruits' and a much better 22. History says its a big 'if' in relation to us getting a good run with injury.

Unfortunately we don’t have salary cap mobility , some outrageously generous contracts that were structured a few years back to Gov , Williams& Martin are coming back to haunt us and yes all the finalist have improved their lists and will be stronger. Imagine coming up against the Melbourne wing a fit Grundy / Gawn ruck team.
our elites Sam, Charlie & Harry combined restrict our position too.
On the brighter side should Gov , Williams , Martin, Marchy & Cunners stay on the park for half a season together , Baggers Will playing finals 2023.

Update. Cordy, Logue, Tucker on the move.

I'm speculating that with the uncertainty around the contracts for H and Acres now removed, just maybe we have a little more wiggle room than we did a week ago... a man can dream.
Yah the dream is in the fun is speculating thr options, one would have to be very happy with Club‘s direction Sayers, Cook are staunch, no nonsense administrators and have payed grounded foundations , there’re continuous positive results.
Austin & Agrestia are astute operators, let’s sit back and see what unfolds. If wiggle room is needed it will happen.
Our club has been a shambles for years , finally our destiny could change quickly in the few years, if we have some luck with perennially injured and some of our highly paid players having more impact & determination.

Ive seen a few people on Facebook commenting that Freo have been stitched up here, they have done pretty well, Logie and Tucker both chose the team that finished last, one Of them could have gone for free to the PSD, so it’s a pretty good deal each way.

I don’t think I have seen any player spill as many marks as Logue.
