In the football ecosystem it’s a State league which thousands of individuals support. It’s hardly irrelevant and it’s not a feeder competition, that’s just an arrogant ill informed opinion.Sure, on an individual level it's important, but also lets be real. In the football ecosystem, it's a irrelevant feeder competition with all the benefits/drawbacks that has. Part of that irrelevance means it avoids those negatives you alluded to with the AFL.
Saying "take your head out of your arse and take it for what it is" and complaining about what reserves teams do in the league aren't compatable statements. The reserve teams are keeping in line with what the SANFL is all about. Being primarily a bridging league between the amateurs and AFL.
Sure the juniors are feeders as players looked to get drafted, but if you’re not drafted it’s rare players get called up in to their careers at the SANFL. If anything it attracts players who can’t make the AFL.
You missed the point with take your head out of arse and take it for what it is. I’m talking about the standard of football and across all levels. If youre watching 3rd grade amateurs you know the standard of football will be at a certain level.
I don’t agree the Crows and Port should be in the SANFL, they should be in a national reserves comp. If they did leave the SANFL will be just fine, just because you’re taking 2 clubs out and some players doesn’t mean other players won’t be found and even if the standard drops a little, who cares, supporters will still enjoy it.
