Why did Worrell not end up playing. I thought he was picked in the team . Did he re injure himself at training or did they take cautious approach with him and give him another week?

Pulled out with soreness.
The loss won't hurt the young players as reminds them have to be prepared to have a strong aggressive approach to every game.
However the performance of so many that are wanting to play AFL was really disappointing and as many posters previously said no player showed they should be called up.
Dowling ,Cook ,Parnell and Gallant showed glimpses of ability.
Against a club that not a tall side we clearly showed we have a lack of talls in squad as couldn't take a contested mark .

LOL

You're about the pnly one that saw it that way...Our ruck and mids were all sub standard today...Centrals didn't even have a recognised ruckman out there.

Here's the bloke he was pitted against today

Maybe.

But he probably took five or six contested marks, and he was winning clean hitouts straight to position - and he just watched our mids do next to nothing with it.

Gee, how many matches has taken you to realise this .....did you love him pulling out of that mark .....has no heart ...has no desire for any form of physical contact

Yet again, zero tackles ....he just doesn't want an AFL career hard enough
Newchurch will never be an afl player

Good finishing skills but that’s it , need more than just that

Its just a loss, there's a few over reactions in here. Crows kicked horribly inaccurate, got a terrible free kick to lose it, played so far beneath what they are capable of & only lost by like 4 points.

A bit of perspective might do well for some. Dirty day but the sky isn't falling, we were never going to win every match in the SANFL. It's disappointing with so many AFL listed players to perform like that but its not the end of the world.
My only concern is the mental approach to that game. They’d not played for two weeks and you’d think they’d be chomping at the bit to prove their worth… instead they were a little bit arrogant thinking they had it won and all they had to do was show up.

Rubbish.....Numerous times he put it down the throat of the oppo mids...
His ruckwork yesterday was sub standard especially considering he had virtually no opposition to speak of in a 3 gamer 20 year old....and our mids were very poor as well. The fact the hit out count was Strachan 50 Pickering 10 tells you all you need to know...and I'd tip a percentage of those 10 was when opposed to Borlase on the rare occasions he gave Keiran a chop put.

Edit my mistake Pickering is the veteran of 2 SANFL League games not 3.

It's disappointing but I don't really get the melting from some. Played badly & lost by a small bit whilst missing lots of goals. What's done is done though, players get a chance to respond next week lets hope they do so.

Not quite being mentally focused isn't necessarily arrogance, and I'm not even sure that was the issue.

Mate, this is starting to sound like Bearded Clam and Keays.

It's what separates AFL players from SANFL players ......yes we see it with players at AFL level, however mental application to games, is an aspect the Coaches look for in team selection

I'm still not seeing the correct application by Schoenberg .....of course he racks up possessions at SANFL level ....he did during the last SANFL match, but there he is still in the SANFL yesterday, whilst Ned plays AFL

Schoenberg's gotta bang the door down & demand selection

Nope, He was poor yesterday given he virtually had no opposition in the ruck contests, a 20 year old 199cm 90kg "veteran" playing his 2nd SANFL League game fresh from the Gold Coast Academy Townsville..Not helped by an equally sub standard showing by our midfield group as a whole.

Well OK please explain what the issue was then...17 AFL listed players against a team that boasted 2 formerly AFL listed players Aaron Nietschke (0 games) and Jez McLennan (0 games).

Thats the talk of a loser.

That doesnt build toughness and grit..

Thats the sort of shit a soccer mum/dad says to her/his 8 year old after a loss.

“Dont worry darling, sure, you didnt play well, but there’s always next week”

Fxxk off..

every single one of those lazy flogs out their playing for the crows yesterday needs strips torn off them..

All day they played lazy, arrogant and unaccountable football and got beaten by a bunch of part time spuds.

You let that shit slide and it can become ingrained.

And its been this clubs problem for decades..

Too soft on its players.
Too willing to accept mediocrity and just say “we’ll do better next time”
Too forgiving.
Too willing to give out shiny new contracts to lazy sods that only bother to start showing up when their current contract is close to ending.
Too conservative and set in its ways to change.
Too nice.

And as for Matt Crouch..

I’d pay him out and tell him to pack his bags right now.

He’s out there for no one but himself at this point.. and its all about stat padding as far as he is concerned.

He thinks if he gets 40 touches a week another AFL club might give him a lifeline at years end.

Prime example at one point in the game yesterday he got a free kick.. one of his team mates had the ball and was free streaming up the wing toward the forward line and crouch screams out to have the play stopped and the ball bought back to him.

He screamed for it that loud the commentators even heard him.

He wanted to take his kick.

Its 1 extra stat.

By the time the ball gets back to him and he finally makes a decision and uses it Central players had set up in defense up the field.
