Port are 0/4 and have a day and a bit to get them done.

i'm not even contemplating the dawson thing ... i still think that situation was something dawson himself hadn't really considered til very late in the process
i just think mcdonald seems very content and very ready to take up that key forward role the club will build around
that might be rose-coloured glasses stuff but it's all about that timing, coming into the team at the same time as a bunch of other young guys, and developing "their" team basically from scratch ...
it started three years ago but in mcdonald's case it's really been opened to him since franklin finished up (and i get the sense he'd have soaked up all he could playing alongside franklin, and now wants to show what he's got)
in the foreseeable future, i can't imagine he'd want to pull up stumps and shift to fremantle (or west coast) just because of this "go home" factor ...
maybe after he has helped his teammates win five or six premierships he might want to cash out and "go home" ...

but just this idea, that seems to have been floated somewhere on this board, that we concede it's inevitable he's going to want to "go home" in the next year or so, so offer him up for the best deal possible now ... that's utterly insane!
I do agree with your comments although it does concern me as to what he would have thought of our offer for Naughton. He may be thinking "why are the Swans going all out for Naughton, who would take my spot"?

If Logan was concerned about his spot being taken by Naughton, over McLean or Amartey, then he should get to work. If we had gotten Naughton in, it shouldn't be him that has to worry.

Agree to a point but Amartey and McLean have both signed long term. Logan only has 1 year left.

or, if they're a sensible club, at some point once the story has gone public, they go to mcdonald and explain a potential role naughton might have had, and reassure mcdonald of his role, and his worth to the club!

Yeah, but if Logan came to the club today and said I want to re-sign for 4 years on reasonable $ until free agency, we'd be summoning the after hours media team for an announcement. Not sure why Logan would be pinning this on the club as if his future with us is in question (by us).

The Esava hold up for junk picks which the Cats will be lucky to use at all is pathetic from the Cats and Andrew Mackie who is trying to be the new Doddoro.
Esava has indicated for two years running he wants to go to Port , now out of contract the second rounder seemed a decent trade for the Cats but they crack the s#$ts and demand more then accept these nothing picks at the last minute.
What a waste of everyone's time.

How would Brandon Ryan be feeling…..now w the Lions after being a mid year selection from the Bullants. Reckon he is a big winner from the Gunston trade
