Intriguing minutes mgt last night for the central mids. I don’t recall the last time I saw 68, 73, 78 and 81 (as a max) percent TOG. It kept them fresh for sure. Probably helps them recover for next week too. Interestingly Acres told me at the vfl one day that he usually recovers super easy from a game. “It’s the (central) mids that battle because there’s so much body crunching.”

Great coaching.

One of the all time performances in a 4th quarter you’ll ever see. From a future third rounder if you don’t mind!

I think the last photo is Blake celebrating his out on the full. Looked to be some chance to finish the game without one but he kept it to late this week.

He’s been mentioned a few times already, but just watch Fogs overall game, he does so many little things that don’t make it on the stat sheet like vital taps on etc all while being arguably our best tackler.

Genuinely think he’s one of our smartest players too.

Who’d have thought we’re writing this about a player that was legitimately an afterthought not too long ago. Incredible.

Btw very small point:

While many players seemed to freeze under pressure and not really want the footy….Walsh continued to demand it. It didn’t look to me as though he was at all affected by the moment.

Noticed it last night more than ever, but he seems to have the superstar footy attribute of having everything slow down around him when he has the ball.

A disappointing night as a Sydney fan but I’m genuinely happy for all Carlton fans who can finally have some finals joy. Always respected the passion Blues fans bring for their team win, lose or draw. Goodluck against Melbourne and beyond!
You Sir are a credit to your beloved team and a reason why your team is my 2nd favourite.

He had a wry smile on his face after the OOF... It's almost like his good luck charm...

Really wish the harry-haters would just give it a rest and enjoy the win.

He played a really good game and made two blues, like quite a few out there tonight.
Imagine when Hazza is fully confident again. If Charlie don't do it, then Harry will.
Another year into baby TDK.
OH MY.
Sleeping Giants.
The beginning of a dynasty.
Walsh...
Finals for the foreseeable future.
Dream on.

All this s*t talking about Big H can ****** stop. He will be sorely missed down the lines next week. More importantly he is a fellow human who looked devastated with his two missed goals. At least he is out there having a crack while while we are sitting back in the safety of our homes watching on.
If he is fit he is in, it’s just that simple. But he would be the first to admit that second miss sucked the oxygen out of the MCG for the Blues. We can all agree he has the yips at the moment. He will work his way through them, he is needed and loved.

Will be interesting to see what his loss does to the team.

Acres weekly OOTF just helps me relax these days.

My son and I have concluded he will absolutely butcher it 4 times per week. Once per quarter is par, whether it’s a rank turnover or blazing OOTF. We too take comfort from it when it happens, as we’re like “ah, ok, whew, there it is”.

In every other way, he’s an unbelievable player! So defensively reliable. Totally runs goal square to goal square. Perfect evidence last night with two goal saving touches at one end and the match winner from point blank range at the other. His kicking is bad, there’s no denying that, but his other attributes are fantastic and overall net net he’s been a transformative addition to our team.

Embrace the Clanger! Let the OOTF warmth flow over you!

Harry - wow, what a mixed bag.

Missed two absolute sitters and gets KOd, so was it a disaster? Look at it the other way, he set up the first two goals in 2 minutes with handballs and if he’d kicked the sitters would have been in 4 goals and blown the game apart.

He‘s messy and gangly and unreliable… but he’s still a star. Huge loss for next week, I’d want him out there every time. He’s just a few good moments away from tearing things to shreds. Hope he gets the chance again this year!
