There's many things that happen within a game that in the case of a bad loss could be said to be responsible for a loss. What if we'd lost by under a goal, we could just as easily say that Newman kicking straight to a Swans player when he kicked out cost us the game.

I'm sure that you could pick many things from a game to blame for a loss.

The first miss he kicked off the ground and it went into the post, the second miss was after having to sprint 100 metres to get to the position where he was even competing that close to goal. I agree that things like that can cause a big momentum shift but to suggest that Harry is of no use to us in the side is crazy. He will be picked whenever he's available, I have no doubt of that.
That won't happen again.

I've asked this before BUT.....

IS THIS HEAVEN?
IT FEELS LIKE HEAVEN 😍

Seeing my boys come home from the game together, the younger one emotionally drained, in
a state of shock almost.
The years of heartache and emotional scarring they have endured as young Blues supporters
would not allow any other response.

That win was manna from heaven for us all and fostered so much relief, joy and love for our great Club
and its new hero's that emerged last night. 💕

YEP............ DEFINITELY HEAVEN. :D

I felt stupid mistakes aside we were a 6 goal better side. They should take great heart from that. I really feel the pressure is off now. They’re slight underdogs now and I think that’s great. SEN had a sports psych on this week who said “usually it’s better to be the hunter” and I think that rings true with us. The midfield was amazing.

Felt the backline showed vulnerability again. It’s too slow and they get bent out of shape on the spread very easily. Swans scored nearly 50 percent of entries which is not good.

Jack Martin will be missed. He was an absolute star.
That's on the midfield frankly.

Great atmosphere last night, back in September where we belong and Baggers fans rolled up in good numbers with massive voice.

Drove 200kms during the day for work and then another 360km’s round trip to the game and back to watch a hard fought win.

Tired AF on the way home, had to pull over for an hours rest and tired AF still now but well worth it….

Love the Baggers, big challenge next week but let’s embrace it 💙💙

It’s an interesting one. I’ve seen several praising him and saying Weitering was beaten… but I mostly saw it the other way around. Marchbank had a few good courageous moments, but is often beaten out of position and not great with the ball. He got cleanly out marked by a smaller man at least once last night. I feel he’s a real vulnerability, whereas I see Weitering as a wall that teams have to go around to score. He usually beats his man and helps everyone else out.

Maybe I’m taking my bias in and seeing only things that confirm my view. Shrug.

Obviously I want any and all of our guys to be great, but I don’t see it with Marchy and I don’t quite trust him. Weitering I absolutely trust.

I was happy enough with the Marchbank selection up against the 3 Swan talls, and thought he performed well enough.

But I am certainly in the camp of playing one less tall next week (I want Fisher in the team) and Marchbank would be the one to go. It seems like that is blasphemy on this forum though to want Fisher back in the team :D

Agree, Sydney smashed us with outside run as the game went deeper….

Apart from the first few minutes of the game, I've come away thinking that Sydney were a shade better than us, totally kicked them selves out of it.
Need a big improvement next week, poor old Harry won't be there. But considering his recent form, that might be doing us a favour.

Having slept on it, I think one of the more pleasing aspects about the game (obviously aside from winning) was that it wasn’t our superstars that won the game through individual brilliance (though, granted Cerra was incredible) it was a bunch of guys in that next tier of players who went up a gear to meet the intensity of finals football and got the job done.

I reckon there is some much better finals football to come from this group. Bring on next week.

I think part of the problem (not over training on it but it needs a tweak) with our backline is that they KNoW they are slow. So they desperately don’t want the ball to get out the back because they know they won’t run them down….and so they tend to sag off a bit which allows the short hit up. They’re all good footballers but as a group it’s a weakness. I wish they were playing Boyd.

Saad, Cincotta, Gov and Kemp would be amongst the quickest players in the team. Marchy, Weiters and Newy not as quick but very good with endurance.

I think that Weiters was overdoing the team defence thing that has been spoken about a lot as the catalyst for our improved performance. Sometimes you just have to be accountable for one man.

All this s*t talking about Big H can ****** stop. He will be sorely missed down the lines next week. More importantly he is a fellow human who looked devastated with his two missed goals. At least he is out there having a crack while while we are sitting back in the safety of our homes watching on.
His two handballs set up our first two goals and a few big clutch grabs......He will be missed.
Need to beat Dees and get him back for a pre lim.

Can't believe anybody would think otherwise.

I love what Harry brings to the team but his kicking is a coach/team killer. His second miss from right in front in particular galvanised the Swans and sparked their comeback.
Rubbish

We played dead 'scared' in H2.

It was hard to watch really. Truck loads of dumb errors....

It really was a 6 goal win disguised by our blunders....

All that won't happen again, the monkey's off our back.

Will beat the Dees comfortably.

Even if without H and Jack Martin.

Cripps, Charlie and co. need to chill.....

Go Blues.

Fortunately for us with Harry.

The game turned the moment he missed right in front, we can't afford to carry him. Bring in JSOS.

Was saying to a mate this week that Harry will cost us a final with his brainfades. Seriously unacceptable and really could have cost us the game. That momentum busting miss at the start of the third. You could see our collective heads drop. And how he misses in the first.....only Harry.

On the flipside Charlie's last quarter efforts taking contested marks on the memebrs wing were epic.

Thought the Pittonet/TDK combo worked. If only Pitto could hold a few marks. TDK a lionheart.

Definitely missed some breakaway speed at the stoppages and with Cripps obviously still playing injured it may makes sense to bring in Dow for next week (dont think it'll happen).

Either way cannot wait for Friday night temperature of 25 degress going to be epic.

Despite trying to dissect the Swans zone with some tough kicks, thought Newman was good again

Saad seems to have the blend between defending and attacking absolutely spot on for most of the year

Marchbank was horrible early, but with each contest, just got better and showed why the club rates him highly, he will stay in based on that game

So, don't think we need to be as tall against the Demons as a defensive 7, 1 of Kemp or Gov could go forward

Yeah nah. I wish my clients still paid me big money if I couldn't manage the simplest tasks in my job. I'd be sacked in a heartbeat. Bloke is on 800k I dont feel sorry for him at all I expect results.
