Fisher has been excellent, but he was awful last night. Unaccountable, fumbled often, and poor in the contest. On numerous occasions he was caught out trying to be way too aggressive, leaving his man alone out the back. Put simply, when our pressure from the midfield dropped off, he was exposed.

I would feel much more comfortable playing Boyd on the likes of Wicks, Hayward, or Papley etc - who are all excellent in the marking contest.

Assuming the worst case scenario

OUT - Acres, Weitering, Fisher, Cincotta, Cuningham

IN - Cripps, Docherty, Motlop, Pittonet, Boyd

Sub - Likely Dow or Hollands

Hollands I consider lucky. Should Acres have not been injured, Hollands would have made way.

If Weitering is out, they will not be omitting Cincotta.

Keen to stick with Fish for at least one more. Form prior to last night has been excellent and he brings a more dynamic aspect to that role than Boyd does. Recency bias perhaps but reckon Fish has more upside in that role than Boys does. He did play flat last night but so did the majority of the team.

Hi everyone,

Conscious that most if of not all of you who are members will be attending the final, but hoping someone out there may have a member barcode they are not using which they can share.

The whole family are members, however I changed mine to a digital membership earlier in the year to get the Kayo subscription (I live interstate) without realising it does not have any finals access attached to it. So now we have three member barcodes for four people to take the kids to their first ever Blues final.

So if anyone has a spare and is not attending themselves, I would be incredibly grateful, otherwise will take my chances with the General Public sale.

Cheers, TAW

Cincotta with only 6 disposals, 2 kicks and 108m gained has put himself in the firing line for selection after having a very solid season.

He just looks tired, been brilliant since he came in but had his colours well and truly lowered last night.
I’d be swapping him for Boyd

Thinking about it, as much as I want Cottrell on Gulden he’d be a great matchup on Blakey as well

Gulden and Blakey should be consuming most of our thought processes, have the ability to cut us up and make us look stupid.

We have to bring our A-Grade contest work to win

Gulden is the one for me, he is so damaging with ball in hand that we simply can not allow him to get off the chain. Since our form turnaround we have done a good job of restricting the oppos rebounding defender so am less worried about Blakey. Control Gulden, lock down Papley and Heeney and I struggle to see where they will get goals from.

With a full midfield available, should we be sending Doch back to half back??

I've never had to buy finals tix before, does anyone know if I must be on at 10am to get them or will it be okay if I can only log on a little bit later?

No chance Weiters is suspended imo.

You could take a still shot of 100 incidents in a match and it’d look like face whacks, squirrel grips etc.

Literally split-second action.

It’s clickbait.

I think we will win as long as Dennis Armfield doesn't run across the face of goal, have a bounce and get caught holding the ball.

Fisher clear our for mine. He was great against the Saints, but has looked vulnerable the past 3 weeks under pressure. Not the sort you'd want to be carrying into the pressure cauldron that is September.

Unpopular opinion, but my biggest watch yesterday was Hewett vs Dow. As good as Hewett has been, his good games have coincidenced with Cerra out. Thought Hewett was quiet again now that Cerra has taken his role, and only had the one clearance for the game. With Cripps to come back in, the brave call might be to leave him out for Dow, who was excellent in the first half with his burst from stoppage and courage around the ground.

Durdin and Cunners are easy outs. Hollands saved by the likely Acres injury. Interesting to see what we do with the ruck. You'd think one of JSOS or Pitto has to come in.

Mainboard sooks complaining we are playing on Friday Night in week one of the finals :)
Put us on Thursday night and whoever wins gets us an extra day rest compared to loser of 1 v 4 which would make no sense. Put us on Saturday and the rest gap becomes two days on the finals games which makes no sense.

Tough call, but I’d keep Durds ahead of Fog I reckon (though I don’t expect that’s how it will go). Reasonable return given the layoff and the way the game went.
