Wonder what the plan for Blakey is? His straight-line speed can’t really be countered but I wonder if a high-IQ footballer like Martin can expose him?

We’re clearly going in with a plan to win the footy at the contest and considering how scrappy lasts night’s game was (aside from the odd score from turnover), it’s hard to argue against the strategy.

Motlop is the one I’m disappointed didn’t get a run - this time next year I think he’ll be a permanent fixture of the forward line.

Hollands is unlucky, but Doc was phenomenal on the wing whilst he was injured and it coincided with our hot run of mid-season form.
Would give Cottrell the job on Blakey.

Lets face it, the last 9 wins have all been through adversity with a host of players injured. All players that have replaced the injured have stepped up and once the injured are fit there is always going to be selection outrage in these parts. [2] Paddy Dow,[3] Jesse Motlop,[14] Oliver Hollands,[25] Zac Fisher all stiff, one becomes the sub. Also feel for Kennedy whom is going to struggle to get a run at it with only mock reserves games. I back in the coaches to make the calls. Go Blues
Bam Bam tears it up against the Dees tomorrow, he'll come straight back in.

What’s everyone thinking about the late change Marchbank for Motts?

Personally I want the 2 goals Motts will kick, and don’t know what we do with 4 tall defenders.

🤷‍♂️
I wonder if there's some late change foxing. I'd like to see Motts personally.

Simon Goodwin will be hoping for Swans to have a good win as he'd hate to go out in straight sets back to back

Crippa kicking efficiency 54.5%
267.5m gained, 3.6 Clanger
Dow is at 345.9m, 53.5% & 1.8 clanger. Disposal for clanger Dow is more reliable than Crippa & Walsh.
clangers not a great measure, isn't purely disposal related: "Clanger: An error made by a player resulting in a negative result for his side. Disposal clangers are any kick or handball that directly turns the ball over to the opposition. Frees and 50-metre penalties against, No Pressure Errors, Dropped Marks and Debits are all included in clangers."

If you look at disposals per turnover, it's Cripps 8.6 (our best mid) vs Dow 4.7 (behind Cripps, Hewett, Cerra, Walsh, Kennedy & Docherty).

So Dow's getting our best metres per disposal of our mids with 21.8 vs Crippa's 10.5, but he's turning it over almost twice as often, which is probably why Dow's scoring chain involvement is about 35-40% lower than Cripps, and lower than all of our other mids bar Hewett (0.5% lower than Dow).

Walsh, Cerra & Cripps are the standout 'podium' for our score involvement % mids.

Cunners has been better. Simple. Plus cunners plays a different role to motlop and does more than mots is capable of. Cunners has more contested and ground ball to his game. He's a better midfield rotation and a better marking option.

Motlop is competing with owies.

Yeah nah completely disagree he has not been better at all.

Motlop has been a lot more damaging in terms of hitting the scoreboard and applying serious pressure. Cunningham has been fumbly at best last few games.

Wouldn't mind to see either Pitto or TDK left out for Motts.

I agree, we don't need to see 2 big guys lumbering around in the wet.

Given we know the forward line can operate without Harry up there all the time we need to add back up ruck to his game.

Gives us more versatility with players we can use in different set ups.
