The balance specifically against Sydney seems right.

I’m just less convinced about Marchbanks form than I am of Dow or Motlop’s.

The only question I have about this statement is why are we rebalancing our side (some may say putting out of balance) for the sake of Sydney? Aren't we better don't we back ourselves in?

I picked 2 teams this arvo. One was my preferred team. One was the team i thought Vossy would pick on past history. There were 2 differences.

I got the Vossy one spot on. The differences of course were the marginal ones.

I think every individual team picker will have a similar story.

Looking forward to a great finals game and a win.
Yep, I would have picked Mots for Fog, and Dow sub. 1.5 changes amongst a bunch of unlucky guys.

We should still cream them.

[2] Paddy Dow,[3] Jesse Motlop,[14] Oliver Hollands,[25] Zac Fisher

These 4 emergencies were vital in our winning streak and are all runners. Shocked

Don't totally agree. Whilst all were important in maintaining our winning streak once hit by injuries only Motlop was in when we were playing at our best. We need to get back to that form to be a shot of winning not the form of round 20-23 when we were just holding on.

So Marchbank & Cunners could barely handle a dry ball & they think they are going to turn around form & perform in the wet?
Mots is huge, has provided a spark, kicked goals & probably our best quick snap at goal - u would think that would be bloody handy when the ball is going forward ugly & on the deck. If he’s sub it’s a waste - could come on and literally not touch the ball.
Really not impressed.

I'm not sure dow will be sub as many predict. With Doch back on a wing and both Cunners and Fog playing we have plenty of mid cover. Dow can also only go onball which forces us to reorganise that group when he comes on. I suspect we play motlop who is essentially the player we have sacrificed by picking the extra tall.

Marchbank has always been rated extremely highly inside the club, players and coaches love him and he is always picked pretty much straight away when fit and available. I don’t see any issue playing marchbank, McGovern, Kemp and Wietering in the same backline as the first three have excellent speed and Marchbank when fully fit I’m guessing would be in the top 6/7 endurance runners at the club.

Very happy with the changes with Dow, Hollands and Motlop all extremely stiff but that can happen when we finally have almost a full list to choose from.

The only one that surprises me is Motlop, as for the other 3, I'd think they performed their roles adequately rather than to have been vital. Once the better players were all available they were always going to be at risk of missing out.

Yeah. I had Mots in, Dow on bench and Dutchy sub. With Cunners and Cinc just missing. But it's marginal stuff.

Playing both of Fog and Cunners i reckon is because they score through Lizard, Florent and Lloyd from defence.

If Fog and Cunners can stifle that and we win - selection justified.

If they don't...ah, well.

Can't agree here; Dow came in half way, Hollands two thirds through after injury, Fisher for the last couple, and Motlop was dropped before the Port game and came in via an injury. The thing all these have is that they're all lightly framed, Dow would be the biggest !!!!
Voss has gone mongrel...
