The gap between the top two and the rest is growing by the week.

As Troy Luff said, being so good from the start of the season is not ideal for Collingwood. It gives others time to work you out. Port look like the outstanding form side at this point and they have so many avenues across the park. They are a hard side to hold because they don't have an obvious strength in any area but don't have a weakness.

It really is a year someone could win it from outside the top 4 just by doing a Bradbury with injury and form late in the year going to make a huge difference. Sides will miss finals on percentage this season by the look of it and wouldn't be surprised if 4th and 8th aren't a game apart. We just have to keep staying on our feet and try for a ticket in the lottery.

Yeah I find it hard to judge, potentially the game has just gone passed him, a bit like a Malcolm Blight-Saints scenario? All the talk of the "Weagles Web" and how revolutionary their game play was, that's like what? 7 years ago or so when that started? I mean we throw out coaches like recycling every fortnight so who are we to judge, but I find it hard to see a coach getting a group back from a stint like this.

To me they won against the tide and held on to their premiership list too long. The Dogs won one against the tide and went into immediate rebuild and built a better side. They have trimmed again and are going into another list build period now bringing through kids. Sentimentality has cost the Eagles.

They needed to build another challenge around their best 10 players and trim hard while their premiership players were worth overs. They don't have much in the way of top end youth so look like a hard rebuild period coming up.

They need to decide who is best to guide and build them through that. Simpson might not be it. He has a very clear basic game plan based around skill and structure. It's not creative or complex but relies heavily on finding high skilled players.

Love what Mitchell is doing at Hawthorn, playing a group of young guys with a spattering of experienced players.
Reminds me a lot of the Saints 1996 team, which with a bit of luck could have gone all the way in ‘97.

But when it boils down to it l know I'll be happier seeing the Scum lose again. I think the perfect scenario if they lose this week and next, going in to their bye without a win in 2 months.

I like that in the scope of this and what constitutes a legal tackle, you have the Bont situation of ball on ground, players run over ball and just because pinkies touched it, lets shoulder barge a throat area to no issue just because it didn't concuss a bloke or hit a head.

Game is in great state where you tiggy touch wood "was he aware of other players on a field" and transpose again "but I touched the ball and missed KOing him and breaking a jaw" under "potential for injury" bullshit from the world of MC.

There's a very good reason I'm now watchign Netball for example.
