Do you have a link to the article? I can't find anything on Google or the AFL website. Not doubting you, just trying to find the article you referenced.
From the article below:

"For instance, it would have allowed Adelaide to list one of Rory Sloane or Taylor Walker as a veteran for 2024 and opened up another spot on their primary list. The idea was designed to keep veterans in the game without sacrificing a list spot that a youngster may have taken, with the veteran’s full payments still counted in the salary cap."

Whats the feeling over on the Eagles board about Pick 1, will it be traded?

Will North offer Picks 2 and 3 or Pick 2 and F1 for it?

Will the Eagles entertain the Hawks or Dees offers?
Feeling on WCE and North board is that it will not be traded. General feel at WCE is if North offer 2,3 or 2,15,F1 then it will get done and general feel at North is get f**ked we’ll take 2 and 3 to the draft. There’s a North bloke who reckons he knows a hot shot player manager and that North have stopped communication and Eagles have told Reid to pack his bags. I believe the first bit but I doubt we’d ever tell a draftee we’re keen on them, not how we operate.

Do not see any way on earth we accept Hawks or Dees offer and they can’t improve them either given they can’t trade their F2 and F1.

As I’ve said before I’m very keen to trade our F1 and late picks for your F1 and early picks, has been met with some positivity but also a lot of resistance on your board despite it being a pathway to you getting Draper before Welsh bids.

There's a lot of interest in Leake for Melbourne isn't there?
Yes, there's been loads of talk suggesting that. But surely they'd be expecting Curtin to be gone by their pick, and are therefore not considering him. If he's actually available at their pick, I'm sure they'd take him.

Hello friends and generally sensible posters. Jackson Hately could fill a list need for us given that all of our “midfielders” between 20 and 27 years old are s**t. Did he not get along with Nicks or is he just s**t too? I see us and North are getting a bit of a run on this thread. F**k North. 2&3 for 1 or it ain’t happening although North board is certain all deals are off. I’m still very much interested in trading our F1 and later picks for your picks this year in a deal that could work for both of us. If not, I’ve got you taking Windsor, Goad and one of DeMattia/Tholstrup/Schoenmaker. Sound about right?
You guys need this bloke..

IMG_0253.jpeg

sure.. he’s terrible at footballing.

but…
he’ll help shore up a rebuilding side,
will provide protection for the kids,
will set a “give 1000% standard”,
and seems a really great team mate and club man even though he can be a little bit selfish with ball in hand some times..

you don’t need his mate “the beast”, as someone suggested above, he’s even worse at footballing than Ben is and he is a grubby little ”ducker“ as well.. absolute flog of a player.. loves to make a complete dick of himself often.

Well that seems a bit counterintuitive- why the hell would you delete a post but then keep it in quoted posts? Makes no sense at all!
You're correct Jenny ....unfortunately they can slip thru, having been quoted a few pages on ....they try their best to mop up

Curtin's more a KPP than a flanker, I think he more likely plays KPP or a 3rd tall type role rather than midfield personally.

For mine best suited behind the ball at half back where his aerial talent, good closing speed and intercepting will eventually be among the best in the business IMO.
At 197cm I get that, seemed to play pretty well on Walter too.

I think if teams think he's just a KPD he may slide, but if he's more then he'll get drafted 5-7.

Even then they still won’t trade it if you listen to the club. Their board pretty adamant this is the case too. McKercher at 2 and sounds like Duursma>Sanders at 3.
Fair enough.

I think that I'd prefer McKercher and Duursma to Reid and Leake/ Windsor too, but I'm not expecting everyone to agree with me.

It sounds like the Geelong pick might still be up for grabs, but probably only on the night and only if a player the bidder wants is still there AND a gun Geelong likes hasn't slid.
I don’t think any club will be willing to pay what they will be demanding for it. It would have to be a club desperate for a KPD picking O’Sullivan because no one else left would be worth it IMO. If anyone is going to shit the bed it would be Brady Rawlings offering 15,17,18 for 8 and 25. Even then I don’t think the Cats would send 25 back.

I'd offer 10 and 20 (or 10 and Melbourne's future second) for 8 if it got us O'Sullivan. Works if they are happy with the choice of 2 of Wilson, Windsor or Leake. If that's not enough for Geelong, I wish O'Sullivan a long and happy career in Parramatta.

Yeah but Cats won’t take that. You’ve got some great options at 10. 10 and 20 won’t go close to getting 2 of those 3? GWS will probably take Sully for when Sam Taylor comes back to Perth 2025 FA

Sorry, I was a bit unclear. 2 of Wilson, Windsor or Leake would be available at pick 10 (one will have gone earlier) and Geelong would have the choice of those.

Perfect outcome for us if we hold our picks is one of Windsor or Leake goes in the top 10 and Wilson falls to our first pick. I'm then hopeful that we could get 2 of DeMattia, Hardeman, Tholstrup, Archer Reid and Archie Roberts at 14 and 20.

Good luck on the Taylor front, but I think that they might be a touch keen to keep him.

Isn't Curtain a KPD? How many more do they want?
May 32 in January and Lever 28 in March. Perfect time to allow Curtin to play 3rd tall to develop and be ready to hold down KP when May retires after Melksham breaks his jaw for giving him shit about his ACL.

Nothing groundbreaking here

Adelaide

Arrivals: Chris Burgess (traded – Gold Coast)
Departures: James Borlase (delisted), Tyler Brown (delisted), Tom Doedee (free agency – Brisbane Lions), Jackson Hately (delisted), Shane McAdam (traded – Melbourne), Fischer McAsey (retired), Andrew McPherson (delisted), Tariek Newchurch (delisted), Paul Seedsman (retired)
Contracted: 38 (no category B rookies)
Draft picks: 10, 14, 20, 89
The Crows delisted Borlase after unsuccessfully applying for him to spend a fourth season as a category B rookie, but they committed to redrafting him as a rookie, while Nick Murray earned a promotion to the primary list. They are planning to make two or three picks at the national draft, depending on whether they can package selections to move up.

Brady Rawlings isn't doing that.

I think the best offer Geelong will get would be from us with 14, 20 and F2.
